Porn Industry Prosecution-persecution?

Anyone seen the news article on the beeb website about the U.S porn industry?

As far as sexual infection goes, it has to be the most tightly regulated industry going. All actors/actresses are tested weekly for infection.

Yet according to the article several movie makers (among them Hustler) are in a legal battle, because the industry is not protecting workers health. Apparently the U.S equivelent of our H&S has decreed that condoms must be worn for all contact!

Could this be the death knell for the porn industry?

I'm sure the vast majority of us practice safe sex, however when it comes to watching movies, I'm equally sure its not as much of a turn on if the actors are wearing condoms. This ruling also applies to oral sex by the way.

I would never watch any porn with condoms being used... It will just drive it all back underground..and then there will be less health checks..

Think it may be a big step forward for the porn industry. They could play a big part in sexual health if they are seen to be promoting safe sex.

In my opinion the porn industry should have voluntarily done this from the 1980's onwards. It's a pity it may take such a ruling to make them act.

It's bad news for the porn movie making industry but the distributors will just switch to distributing amateur material - which will mean thye'll end up revenue sharing with the amateurs, who'll become the new producers, probably offshore...

I think it will come to a head when someone gets infected sues and wins. When that happens insurance companies will either walk away or adjust premiums to the point its not viable to make films without condom use. If you think about it what we are looking at is our pleasure against someone else's safety and it does make you think.

Stick to safe sex, watch the older Retro or Vintage stuff.

This legislation only applies to California... so all it will do is push porn production into Nevada or another close state... which i'm sure they won't be bothered by... I don't mind watching porn with condoms in, but prefer bareback porn myself but i doubt the new laws will stop this.. the production houses that can afford to ( which is most) will move and new ones will start up in place of those that cant afford a move.

Torquay

Alternatively......give porn a miss and have ACTUAL sex yourself.

Beats 'virtual sex' every time!
