I only have a small terrace but looking at growing my own veggies as it’s a sun trap.

What grows the best and is easier for this not so green fingered lass?

Beans, peas, tomatoes, strawberries. Grab a few different seeds and grow them all were you have an area set aside. Then you'll know what grows best in thst location. Enjoy OP.

Potatoes. Take a few out the cupboard and Bury them 6" deep. In 6 weeks you should have your own. Use a bucket.

Herbs. Basil and Parsley are the easiest, you can do those from seeds using empty tins.

You can grow potatoes in bags

Runner beans on a wigwam in a pot, water regularly and you’ll get beans until about September and any you don’t eat you can freeze. Most garden centres will have these as plants in May ready for planting out. If you like tomatoes would recommend them too can’t beat home grown ones and again you’ll be able to buy plants from the garden centre.

Tomatoes in growbags or potatoes on potato sacks along with herbs are all a possibility in a small space.
