"Even as a couple we have had that , I think sometimes maybe one half of the couple is interested then the other half looks and says no thanks! " With this couple she meets alone and he waits outside. I doubt he would have winked. But yes I think that what you've described must happen.

"It's unfortunately the thing that happens whether it's on fab or out in the real world. I had a girl send a message asking to meet up and we exchanged face pics etc and everything was a go. 15mins before the meet... They went ghost. Sent a message when they came back online and they went into a rant about how need to take the hint they are not interested. Literally felt like was dealing with multiple personality person. But, you brush them off... Move on and keep head held up high. Good luck fella" Thanks fella. Yes you're right.

"They looked at your profile then decided you weren’t for them and that was it. Rather than string you along they deleted and blocked. " Not sure I agree but thanks for the input. They looked at my profile and winked. If I wasn't for them, they shouldn't have winked. I think it's a bit cruel really to string people along. A wink says you're interested. Don't wink if you're not.

I reckon they probably wink every local man just to get mails.

"They may have winked as an encouragement for you to contact them if you liked their profile, based purely on what they saw in yours - then having been contacted may have decided, based on your message content (regardless of whether it was courteous or not), including any face pics attached etc, that you weren't for them, and rather than enter into further pointless dialogue just deleted as an indication of no interest. It's also possible to accidentally wink when looking at a profile via the desktop site - unlike the mobile site you don't get an "are you sure?" pop-up It happens, no point sweating it " I appreciate what you're saying. I messaged a woman once not realising she was 6"2. She replied and I messaged back apologising for messing her about. I think some people lack manners.

Whilst it's true that manners and common courtesy etc are good traits - on here the game slightly changes. Yes ideally it would have been nice to get a response given they winked you first, but there's a couple of reasons it's accepted on here that no reply is a "thanks but no thanks" - firstly a lot of women and couples get abuse or "But why? Give me a chance to prove you wrong" messages when they reply with a no thanks - not saying you would have done that, and in fact doubt you will have based on your posts here, but based on one message they wouldn't *know* that - so rather than risk it, it's easier not to reply. Another reason is that by replying, it creates a way round any future filters they may apply such as age etc.

"I get that couples and females get inundated with messages. I expect deletion if they're not interested when I've contacted them. However, I'm a bit miffed with a couple who've winked me. I replied saying thank you for the wink and said that I was very interested. My message was courteous and polite. They looked at my profile again and then deleted my message. It felt good to be winked by the couple as their pics were well nice. Then you feel a bit deflated by their next response or lack of it. Thoughts?? " Why dwell on it? They had initial mild interest that went. Move on.

I do get it now. Cheers mate.
