Chatting with a friend we got onto what is heaven like?

I don’t think it will be as the traditional thoughts portray it.

I think it will be tranquil and nothing like our world as we know it.

I think we may exist in heaven as spirits only and not in the physical manifestation of the human body. Everyone we have lost will be there too.

Well going by religion it will be full of murders, rapists and all the other sickos who repented for there sins on there death bed. Send me to hell, that's where all the fun people will be

Reply privatelyReply in forumReply +quote

By (user no longer on site)

Honestly, I think heaven as the concept that most religious people talk about would be really fucking boring. Based on their judgements of good and bad, all the fun people are going to hell anyway!

Possibly some kind of different dimension where all our conciseness are combined into singularity. No stresses, no worries and no physical forms. Just love and happiness.

That snuggle in my spot on Mr Sofa’s chest! There’s nothing I love more than snuggling in that exact spot! After sex, before sex, watching movies, listening to him chatting pish, fabbing, laughing! It’s just how I’d describe heaven!

I don’t know, i’d like to think everyone is there that has passed, even if it was for one last time, you can sit there and have a chat with them etc. But in only honesty, as much as it’s a comfort to others I don’t think there is a heaven, I believe that when you die, that’s it, just like it was when you were born.

I’m open to discussion and if anyone has anything to offer me to say otherwise.

I don't believe in heaven - I wish I did, it might give some comfort but there you go. If I did, my ideal would probably similar to the biblical Garden of Eden. Beautiful countryside, forests, plains, snow-capped mountains in the distance, warm sunshine etc. and no technology whatsoever And it would be completely devoid of other humans, apart from myself and the right one. No pain, no suffering, no illness or disability - just eternal safety and companionship. My idea of hell would be the same, but with people there.

Heaven isn't a place in the afterlife, it's a state of mind in the present being.

I wish that everyone gets to reside in it, or at the very least, visit it as frequently as they can.

A bit like Earth, but one where people cared a bit more and United a bit more over things that truly matter to us all. A kinder version of what we have here.

According to the bible, heaven is sitting around constantly praising god. No thanks. I also think that hell has had a lot of negative reviews from people who are just trying to bad mouth the place in order to big up their heaven. God was pissed off with Lucifer. He cast him out of heaven. I think Lucifer just thought, "fuck it, I'll just start my own place up down here". I bet it's quite nice. It's probably got better food and décor.

But the idea of living on in the afterlife for eternity, fills me with dread. After two or three weeks holiday I'm itching for a change of scenery. I think heaven would drive me insane.

I always imagine it to be on top of clouds with the pearly gates and inside there’s everything from shopping centres, cinemas, theme parks and all your past relatives would be there.

I know where my gran would be, she’d be in a concert watching Freddy Mercury and David Bowie!

Well if you believe in the thinking behind this life is just a dress rehearsal for the real thing. Then maybe a rerun of your life with all the bad decisions and mistakes erased a bit like photo shop . Think it's a bit deep for Monday morning lol.
