In my happy place

I'm moving soon.

Need a new bed.

I can't decide between a bed frame or a bed with storage.

I need storage as no built in wardrobes or room for them.

Any reccs welcome..

It needs to be non creaky

We’ve always found the beds with built in storage to be more comfortable than frames, which is a shame as frames look better.

Wait until there is a sale and spend as much as you can on your mattress, that makes the world of difference.

Have a clear out. Anything you haven't worn in a year put on ebay or give to charity. Is there no room for a sliding wardrobe system, as these take up far less space. A good mattress is definitely the thing to look for. Unless they are toys and you shag a lot, under bed storage for me never gets used.

I'm selling my apartment and will want a new bed myself, a divan bed with storage is practical from a storage perspective and a lot more sturdy from a squeaky bed. I find frame beds better from a tying to the posts perspective but but hollow tubing from the frame amplifies the noises of rampant sex. I hope to build my own bed frame after I move using banister posts and totally over engineer it to keep the noise down during noisy sex lol

Go for a divan. Solid. Lasts for years and non squeaky plus can have drawers

We have a solid wood bed, the base has thick, solid wood supports and it’s perfect for tying all sorts of restraints to. Ypu could use storage crates under it if need be.

When we go to hotels we take under the mattress restraints so you’ve still got options on a divan bed, if restraints are your thing. Clearly, they’re ours

I had one and found once I'd put stuff in there it never came back out. Same with the under bed storage. Good for things you rarely use or seasonal throws but in reality the less bending the better.

If you do get an ottoman, don't buy sprung slats as the plastic clips break - buy solid if you can. They are practical and sturdy though and you could always sell it should you move.
