Another day another fake

After being duped in the past I’m now extra cautious when arranging to meet someone. BUT! The last 2 days in a row I’ve arranged meets with 2 different people and been stitched up. I won’t name and shame or go into details. What’s with these people ? Or perhaps it’s me that’s just a sucker. Ffs it’s ruining this site, well for me anyway. MEH!!

Were they verified?

I find that as long as I stick to verified people that show a verification as well I never get stood up.

Genuine question. How do you know they are fake? Perhaps they just changed their minds about meeting. It's not great, but it happens

Yesterday the person was unverified but gave me an address. I was apprehensive asking for a phone call video chat etc. That didn’t happen but it was my birthday, she looked hot and was 10 mins away so thought fuck it anyway I went round. Text to say I was there. No response. Knocked to door. No response

Today. The person is verified but only joined yesterday. She wanted outdoor fun at a heath. So I drove there. Then she asks if I’d mind wanking with her male friend before hand who’s in the heath. Where are you I ask. At home she says. No thanks! See you later mate

Pretty much what we do, a bit more than one veri though and the veri trail has to be solid before we'll commit to a meet. We have a list of potential meets, all with good veris and have been active in the scene a while. Hasn't failed us yet.

We had a run of it in Oct and Nov 18 almost gave up. But glad we didn’t. There are real people out there. Chin up and carry on

Yeh I tend to look at the trail to make sure it’s genuine and then I have no problem. I have had people change there mind or circumstances change but they have told me and not just stood me up somewhere

I would say saw you coming with those. Some obvious things to be cautious about. But, even so, some people just get cold feet and are too scared to even cancel. Most people run into someone flaky at some point.

Agreed to meet a verified user on Monday for a coffee, in a John Lewis cafe. I turned up, he went awol!

It's not like I meet that often anyway and I was incredibly careful to check and double check before agreeing to meet.

If two people have done the same thing maybe its what you are saying to them! Reading this its evident you are not very patient and there is a hint at aggregation there. People change their minds there is little commitment with some to a stranger for no strings fun and some people get better offers so more likley that than a fake.

All above is good advice but if your instincts are screaming then follow them. Sadly life is full of fakes not just Fab.

Rest assured there are some really fantastic and honest people on here you just need to be tenacious.

Hopefully you can post a success story on here soon.

Given your OP, you say that you are more cautious. Speaking to someone who isn't verified and someone else who just joined the site, doesn't sound particularly cautious to me. Given that you've had two issues in a row, perhaps it would be best to avoid newbies and those who are not yet verified. Not foolproof, because anyone has the potential to be a no show, but it will certainly lessen the chances of it happening
