Anyone watching it?

The people on the other end of the lead want putting down for not training and taking care of their dogs!

Its something that would upset me so would rather not watch. So sad people train dogs to fight for them and try to justify reasons for doing it.

Well this isn't going to win many fans, but I have killed a dog who attacked me.

Some nasty little corgi type thing, run up to me while I was playing golf and sunk its teeth into my calf, twice, it bloody hurt like hell, the owner was more or less blaming me for frightening it, she put it on a lead.

When we were 100 yards away, she only let it off the lead again, it was coming back for another go, this time it got a full blooded 7 iron in the head.

Did anyone see in paper this week the little girl who was mauled by dog had part of ear ripped off.

To me there is never a bad dog just a very bad owner if that makes sense.

I had a black lab had him from a puppy my daughter learnt to walk holding on to him and friends would argue over who was going to have him while i was on holiday but I would never ever leave him alone with a child totally agree on the trust thing even if he was the biggest soft lump going. Also remember my mums dog few yrs ago biting my foot cos I had accidently stood on his leg I bent down to make sure he was ok before limping away bless him.

100% agree, but they get of lightly at courts. I don't get upset about much but cruelty does make my blood boil.

Horrid programme but hit home how much this still happens.

From a kid I always wanted to be an RSPCA Inspector but know i'd be on a murder charge within a month lol.

Actually I have to disagree slightly. Dog's can be trusted 99.99%.

Trust falls down when people 'trust' there own knowledge of the dog which is typically very poor.

And to the 'Dog Killer', fair play to you, and I dare say you've saved another kid from having its face ripped off.

What do you expect when a dog owner is living in a high rise block of flats and keeps a fairly big dog , hardly ever exercises it, prob tounts it thinking its funny to see it growl and snarl at anyone who comes near because its not used to people, then lets it off the lead to run riot and wonders why it bites innocent people,a dog is only as good as its owner. and some keep them as a status symbol.

hitting a dog to deter it is 1 thing, walloping it with what i assume was repeated blows of a golf club is another

there are humane ways of killing aggressive animals

that's what puts us further up the food chain

the owner was silly to let if off its lead again, but seeing it beaten to death must have been horrific for her

Not at all, one blow.

I was a +2 golfer in those days, he got the full treatment.

The woman was obviously upset, but had witnesses and deep bite marks. which had antiseptic applied very painfully with a syringe afterwards along with a tetanus jab.

If it were today I'd probably sue her for good measure.

Self preservation makes us react differently to how we would normally behave, in a situation like that it's a case of do what you have to do.

If it had been a child or if you had fallen and the dog attacked your face or throat then it would have made headline news.

I think every dog should be documented, ie a birth certificate minimum for identification and proof of ownership etc. That way people would be made more responsible for theirs and the dogs behaviour.

Turn left at the Singing Ringing Tree

I didn't watch the programme, however from personal experience it's the ignorance of the owners that gets me.

We have incidents of sheep worrying by dogs on the moor. Plenty of signs saying keep dogs on leads during lambing season. One example - a woman drove to the same car park daily, sits in car and lets dog out for a nice roam. Farmer wonders why his sheep are being killed in a certain area so sets up a watch. Spots dog attacking his sheep and shoots it - as he is legally allowed to do. 20 minutes later woman turns up looking for her dog. Her excuse, she's always done it and the dog was a friendly one!
