Every day my newsfeed is full of news articles about the child abuse claims against Michael Jackson but yet I still turn his music up louder when it’s on the radio, even manually select tracks of his to listen to in the car off my phone.

You don’t hear Gary Glitter songs anymore, but is Michael Jackson’s music just too good to boycott?

I do the same with R Kelly’s “Ignition” and “Step in the name of love” songs and then I feel guilty. Nowadays i keep the window up and the volume at a reasonable level when they come on.

Funnily enough and on the same topic; Sometimes I question if my aversion to Chris Brown’s music may be due to the numerous distasteful, arrogant and indeed sometimes violent acts that he has carried out over the years (the Rihanna assault chief amongst them!).

......but then I remember that his music is complete shit, which may additionally prove as a deciding factor as well.

Allegations against MJ were never proved even after his death nobody came forward with any evidence or substantial claim,so giving him benefit of doubt as his music always talked about compassion and humanity .

Some of his songs are indeed unforgettable.

Strange bloke was Mr Jackson and his singing as a solo artist used to get on my tits. Very talented bloke though. Until proved otherwise I see him as an odd ball who preferred to spend time with kids because pretty much every adult wanted something from him.

Most nonces are very devious and try their best to hide their compulsion. Can't see that in his actions

Jimmy Saville was never found guilty of anything either. His tunes were admittedly less awesome though. He also never settled out of court with anyone.

I don't think it makes a difference to the music, as I've said above, but I am of the opinion that MJ probably did do some things he really shouldn't have.

Still haven't seen one spit of evidence that proves MJ's guilt, only greedy families that seemed to want money from him. I never got too deep into R Kelly and I suppose his hebephilia and ephebophilia is to blame for my distaste for him and his art.

Like Elvis before him I only like a couple of Jackson's songs and mostly think he was pretty over rated IMHO and certainly don't understand the God like status he is accorded by some.

He was definitely an oddball, possibly as a result of some of his upbringing, and it'll probably never be known whether the allegations are true or not and until concrete evidence shows otherwise I guess his legacy will live on for some but like I said, odd track aside, not for me.

I don’t really think anyone’s crimes can take away or negate their talents or achievements. They’re just separate things.

As it is I didn’t particularly like his stuff when he was alive and I care no more now that he’s dead. The allegations are irrelevant to it.

Saville didn't hide it particularly. Watching him on TV it's clear he enjoyed publicly pushing boundaries. His hands were all over the women and children he spoke too.

For me personally, I think Michael Jacksons catalogue of music is incredible. There have been so many great songs covering many decades. As a lover of music, the quality of his art is not effected by anything he may or may not have done.

Having read his biography, it would have been almost impossible for him to have grown up to be a balanced and sane individual. As the victim of many different types of abuse as a child himself, the chances that the at least some of the accusations could be true are high.

Don't really have much of an opinion on MJ - he was just another bland popster imo, but the documentary "Leaving Neverland" is on Channel 4 next month. The Guardian describes it as "devastating", so should make interesting viewing. I wonder if it will change any fans' minds.

Mj fans are hard core fans and most have already discredited chanel 4 and leaving Neverland. One of the alleged victims has spoken out on twitter to say its lies.

Chemical castration isn't permanent, it's only effective during treatment and for a short time afterwards.
