how long will a troll survive?

Will their comments escalate in a frenzy of "look at me"?

Can you sit on your hands instead of trying to educate the terminally ignorant?

Do you run the gauntlet and put them straight at the risk of being put on the naughty step?

Manchester (she/her)

I have a terrible case of "someone is wrong on the Internet" at times.

I tend to get out my virtual frying pan and invisible baseball bat. Works every time for me

Sometimes it would be good if they were starved but there’s always someone or two who can’t resist responding. Even when they are getting abusive. Give em enough rope is my stance with trolls on here.

It’s just words on a screen for me. I appreciate others see this different.

Don’t sweat the small things and someone tapping away on a keyboard trying to upset people is a very small thing.

Beyond the shadows.

The way I look at it is if you dont take their bait, it will piss them off. So I try not to take the bait.

You can, but they can't get wet. If they get their dicks wet then they turn into wanking zombies...

I think there's benefit in telling people with disgusting opinions that they don't get to seek my silent complicity.

What’s a troll? I’m a bit daft today, well most days actually

I think they should be called out on their behaviour. Sadly, those types of people aren't interested in being called out, and only wish to spout their bile. Certain elements appear to continually get away with it sadly.

I try not to worry about it, feel for them if they have to make themselves feel better by stirring things up.

The internet has made it possible to start an argument in an empty room I guess.

The internet is an oxygen chamber.

How do you propose to cut off the oxygen supply?

I would argue it can be an echo chamber.

With some of the toxicity in the forums, oxygen starvation would benefit some fabbers

They need calling out. Some attitudes need to be stood up against or we allow people to talk down to or discrimate against others.

Do not feed the trolls. Do not feed the trolls. DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS!

I'll admit, I've bitten a couple of times, but I generally try to ignore them since attention is what they crave.
