Do you think that people should mix their professions and Fab.

Another thread got me thinking that if you do a role and you recognise someone whilst doing that role, have access to personal data... should you use this in anyway & grab an opportunity whilst carrying out the role or ignore and use the facilities of Fab and message with no linkage to your role whatsoever.

ie.. Nurse working in an outpatients clinic, recognises a guy from here, mentions to him that she knows him from Fab and arranges a meet.

is that crossing the boundaries as an employee.

if he says yes... all good & well

if he says No and he reports, should she be disciplined.

if he says No, does he worry that she has access to his records.

A genuine question, albeit another thread got me thinking.

Wasn't there a matter recently of police officers losing their job because they had mentionned their profession on social sites and attracted people because of that?

I was once threatened by someone on Fab, that they had the means to track me down because of the nature of the job they did.

Whether they could or not was another matter, but nothing ever came of it

Better to keep things seperate in relation to 'swinging' which some will have differing _iews on if it was common knowledge in the workplace..

relationships do start from the most varied circumstances in general other..

pretty sure in the example you use that an NHS employee would face some form of investigation and possibly censure if an official complaint made..

Nurses are require to work to a code of ethic's as do certain other professions..

Good question View.

I would be uncomfortable mixing the two worlds of work and fab play. Discretion is very important to me, I would want to respect the discretion of others.

I have employed a guy who cruised me online.

Didn't fancy him but was a nice enough guy to chat to so exchanged a few messages.

Turned out he was a truck driver and I was looking for new lads at the time so asked him to come down and see me in work.

That was summer 2006 and he still works for me and has been a great employee it has to be said.

I would be surprised if anyone could do that unless they knew all your personal details, so keyboard warriors at the their best

The way I figure it is, if you have a sensitive job why take the risk in telling people what you do for a living. If someone has access to computers that hold personal details and can trace you then that person would be using them outside of his or her work remit in doing so. Isn't that a crime?

hmmmmm....a very good question there?

In my previous profession I met fabsters at and through work, but my proffessional ethics did mean ( I hope) that there were no blurred lines. To be honest I never really thought about it at the time, but could easily have had me struck of the roll

One of my gentleman callers could if he wanted find out every single detail about my life, however, the thought that he would doesnt even cross my mind. He definetly keeps work and swinging completely seperate and so should everyone else.

Perhaps not for many reasons. The embarrassment it could cause for starters but knowing what we can be like realistically we know we would based on the information below.

Our personalities would mean if we did it, it would be subtle and of course a passing shot perhaps leaving a business card to hopefully give the person or persons food for thought.

It would only be having seen possible interest with eye contact and body language and acting upon that.

It's half the fun and no intention to make anyone uncomfortable.
