Do you think the Isis Brian should be allowed back in to the UK ?

Let’s face it, she is 19 and still a kid and has children that need looking after.

I’m torn. Part of me thinks yes as she was only 15 when she left. But then she has honestly said she still supports ISIS.

Also this whole story has been manufactured by the press. A journalist found her in a camp and asked if she wanted to come back and she said yes if she could......

She hasn’t actively requested to come back.

If he hadn’t tracked her down we would have never heard about this and she would have stayed there

No sorry I don’t think she should, even if she came back and ended up in prison, we’d have to pay to keep her and her child. She made the decision to go and join Isis and her view on them hasn’t changed, she just wants a better place for her child so is security wise a threat x

She chose to join isis which is dedicated to the downfall of western society so no she should not be allowed back under any circumstances, she made her bed now let her lay in it

That’s a good point, she has said that she doesn’t regret what she did and would do it again. Obviously the UK is a safer place for her to raise her children.

It appears that under international law that we CAN'T refuse her entry to the country (or any British citicen). But we do not have to aid her return in any way and she will be arrested if she does return.

She was a child, she was indoctrinated, she's spent years living in a place where she's been told that anyone who disagrees with IS is evil and an enemy of God. She's a victim in this, even if she doesn't realise it herself. And her child is a complete innocent in this, and a British citizen in their own right.

My initial reaction was that same as a lot of people no way . I have since heard some valid arguments from our younger generations.

Two that are quite important to take in!

1st she was 15 so groomed in some way and I’d say at that age not mature enough to make such a decision . Also she says she has no regrets but how do we know she isn’t sourounded and still influenced by Isis members .

My view is she should be let back arrested and investigated about her views.

Why doesn't she move to the Netherlands where her husband is from?

I'd argue the child (if not Syrian by birth) is Dutch from it's Father's side?

Under British law, the child inherits British citizenship if either of their parents is a British citizen, unless that parent is a citizen on through their own parents. As far as I know, Shamima Begum is a citizen because she was born in the UK, so the child has citizenship through her. The child may also have Dutch citizenship through their father, I don't know how Dutch nationality law works. Not that I'm an expert on UK law either.

It's not illegal to hold views (or many of us would be in prison!), only to act on ones that amount to criminality under the law.

Anybody who thinks she's sitting in a field with only a few goats for protection is a barmpot. I'd guess she's already in a safe place and the rest is just stage management.

She'll be a target wherever she ends up now but if her coming helps to prevent other misguided kids from taking the same steps then I'm all for it.

I think she should be left where she is and let Assads security forces or the Peshmerga pick her up. She certainly shouldn't be allowed back here and I'd be disappointed if the government decided to risk the lives of UK servicemen to go and collect her.

People saying she was just a child who didn't know what she was doing are the same people who think 16 years should be allowed the vote because they're so worldly wise and grown up. Can't have it both ways.

She's probably get an interesting story to tell and if it persuades others to not go down the same route then that can only be beneficial in the ballance of things.

Besides, when the book comes out it will be in every bargain bin across the country and will inevitably be pulped.
