Two smart swans

I walking down to Tesco's via the canal where I live, before I left I took a stale half loaf.

I have this evil trick I throw a large piece of bread in the canal and there always a flock of gulls who scrap like crazy over this, especially if one of them takes off with it. The other chase it and bully it until it drops it and then the cycle goes on.

I threw it in and as predicted a major battle ensued, but it was to heavy for any of them to lift, two swans came along and they pushed the gulls out the way, then pushed the loaf under the water then proceeded to scoff it 2 feet underwater, while a flock of 30 gulls circled over their heads angrily.

We all love to feed bread to the ducks and swans but sadly it gives them next to no nutrition. You can buy duck feed from farm suppliers.

The swans and ducks on Gloucester and Sharpeness canal, are floating pictures of health.

I walk to work along the bank to work.
