Room by the hour

I am often getting meets but sometimes need a room . Hotels get pricey. So does anyone know of a room by the hour in the South?

There's one not too far from me that costs £4 off peak and £5 at peak times (weekends)

Why does it make him sound cheap? I assume that the other party is paying half the bill so that makes them both frugal.

Or do we still expect the man in 2019 to pay for it all?

Actually no we don't expect the man to pay, 9 times out of 10 we have paid for the hotel room and the other times have always offered to pay for all the bill.

I will change my first message to WE think it makes him sound cheap and would make us feel cheap too.
