Why still in this age is it so awkward to ask someone face to face for a date?

Have we forgotten how to it ,,? Yet majority of us quite happily will ask o cyber space or websites.

If done face to face ,the meaning and implications seem more serious . As if your stating there and then your showing your undying love and this means we must get engaged then married and settle down.

As far as I remember it's always been awkward. The fear of rejection is strong in most people

North Bucks

Put in ground work. Read the signs. Obtain number use WhatsApp to ask out on date.

Cowardly but effective.

I agree.... but it should,nt be.

I wonder along with modern day sex education in the schools .Should we equally be mentoring kids on the emotions around asking and being rejected?

Sex and Relationships Education comes into force in schools from September. This is exactly the sort of thing that will be covered.

It's not a good idea to ask someone out in real life these days. You'd probably get done for harassment just for smiling at the wrong person.

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

Thanks to PC bullshit and terms like "toxic masculinity" 1 in 3 millenials in the USA think asking a girl out for a drink constitutes a form of sexual harassment.

No doubt becoming harder.
