Just figured out what G.O.T stood for...

Eh.... Never seen any of it!!!

I"ve heard stuff. Dragons, kings, queens, battles and sex.. I think that is the core of the programme.

You can correct me if I am wrong. But I am still not going to see any of it so it won't matter..

I guess it’s a choice you’re either in or not, personally I read most of the books way before it was popularised by the tv series.

But then the tv series is now two books at least in front of the books, plus Kaitlyn Stark is still alive in the books...

Anyway I understand your post, but it’s the tension and way the author can kill of main characters so easily, makes it intriguing and thoroughly entertaining

I felt the same once, everyone going on about game of thrones, how wonderful it was,you got to see it blah blah.

Dragons, medieval,kings n queen's,not really my thing.

And because I hadn't watched it from the start of series one I never thought it worthwhile, untill last year, the series was over,I was off work for a while and a friend give me a link to watch it.

I watched it right through in a matter of weeks from series one to series seven.i was hooked.i love it.

I suggest anyone that has a few hours to spare to give it a try.

Never seen it but have read all the books up to date. Like too many other books, the series strayed too far for me! (Commenting as my son loves both)

I agree, I have been told by loads of people ‘it’s not my thing’ and every single one of them are now fully up to date and gagging for this season to start!

It’s not what it’s about, it’s more how it can drag, swing and bounce you through emotions, not many storylines can even get close in my opinion

I gave it a try some time ago, everyone keep talking about it so I was tempted. Watched the first season and I dont think I will watch any more. For me it was way too time consuming and not interesting enough.

Apparently, the final season will have only six episodes. There's speculation that each might be longer than in previous seasons - but still, just six?... hmmph.

In a town Fab forgot

It's a great series with brilliant characters, back stories, twists and turns. Great relationships and connections.

The battle scenes are epic and you never really know the outcome until the end. So many lead characters killed off, it's wonderfully and frustratingly unpredictable.

Ultimately though, they're just arguing about a chair.

Oh well that's not so bad then. I think each episode so far has been something like 40 minutes, except the final episode of season 7 which I think may have been 80 minutes.

I tend to get the box set and binge (just watched all seven seasons so far that way) so, as long as total running time is at least equal to previous seasons, I'll be happy.

Unfortunately it is very likely the TV show will have some sort of happy ending, favourites will die but with a cause for celebration. Because the masses can't handle anything else.

If they go the route that G.R.R.M hinted at for the books it should be a bittersweet ending, with heavy emphasis on the bitter.

I was worried for the final season, season 7 restored faith slightly. I still have concerns though, the parts that had zero book presence or connections were terrible prior to season 7. They turned Ramsey from a sadistic calculated psychopath in to a madman out for power. Major inconsistency.

Jamie and Bronn in Dorne... let's just pretend that didn't happen.

So let's see how they end it.
