It ought to sound, and be, an awful lot of money, but given that the country overespends by some £160bn a year, it's only 8am Monday to 11 am Wednesday.

Pint and a Pie for Lunch it is then.

Och, what's a billion pounds when those lovely MPs can have a nice big underground carpark? Never mind employing anyone with a brain to guess the very large building above might just lean a bit? Maybe they got a good deal on shovels and labourers?

Maybe the MP's can pay for their own rent like we have to

Don'tr know about paying rent to be in your place oof work but car parking charges- now there's an idea that could grow legs . What's £1b divided by working days per year divided by number MPs +staff,

hangers-on, journalists

The government that sells off the Houses of Parliament will be committing political suicide. The buiulding itself is one of the most beautiful in London, if not England, and it has huge historical significance. I'd oppose any such move to sell the HoP and it should be saved no matter what the cost. If it was any other beautiful old building people would agree that it should be saved but because it's the building where MPs sit it seems to be regarded as something to be ridiculed and torn down.
