Apparently I’m officially a teeth grinder!

Had a nasty ear infection and pain to the jaw, ear is now getting better and jaw is so painful! Made an appointment at the dentist who confirms I’m a teeth grinder.

Anyone else got this??

I thought this was going to be about a Gay/Bi dating site for men who have been on Jeremy Kyle

Did it help?

Dr and dentist think it’s been brought on by stress x

Hillside desolate

Yes, I can wake up with a terrible headache and sore jaw because of it.

Cheshire

I was terrible for grinding my teeth after packing in smoking 10 years ago

Numerous trips to dentist I was fair wearing out my back teeth in fact lost two on dentists advice

Also had serious jaw ache and ear ache

Make sure it's not neuralgia my dentist would have happily pulled the lot convinced it was teeth causing pain

One trip to doctor and fortnight of tablets and everything sorted

I’ve heard a ball gag is a cost effective solution.

Mine was anxiety. It didn’t stop the grinding as such but it limited the enamel damage.

It’s common, without going into too much detail, we pretty much all Brux during the night and u wont know about it. It causes stress in a joint just in front of your ears called the TMJ, this loads the muscles in your head and can cause all sorts of horrible side affects. It’s not helped by further wear and over closing. Without opening it’s pretty hard to treat, but a simple nightguard will be available from your dentist and should prevent further wear and protect any dental work you may have. They are a bit of a passion killer though! Hope this helps

Unless you wake up and find them on the other side of the room like I did lol!! Solve the stress is the best answer, I've got a really close bite but don't seem to grind anymore.

Teeth grinder? Thank god we’ve never spent the night together.

And if we do in the future- what can I do to make sure you don’t fall asleep?
