An amazing skiing holiday and with him moving in then he suddenly went cold on me. After a few weeks he got back in touch and we started again only to do it again.

Totally broken hearted I was!

I look back now and think thank fook he did that!

When I was 6 months pregnant with our youngest, my cousin told me my ex was going around hand in hand with this woman, telling every one this was his new girlfriend and we'd broken up.

Hmmm thing is, I thought he was working away. Once confronted, he told me she's his childhood sweetheart who's moved back into town. He realises he's still in love with her so he's leaving me and our kids to be with her.

His parting words were "You and the kids will be better off without me". How correct he was/is! That was 16 years ago and we've never seen him since.

Oh man, you've just reminded me, similar thing happened to me years ago.

He went from ringing every day professing his undying love to disappearing off the face of the earth.

He was a terrible driver (had ended up upside down in a field of cows once at 3am) so I was really worried.

Then after a few weeks I got a text saying "no further contact please"!!

What a twat! Can laugh about it now but at the time I was gutted.

Not being dumped, but I found out partner of 2 years had never actually been in the army and it was something he had made up to feel important. He was so convincing with incredibly detailed stories and anecdotes. As he was genuinely a lovely, kind and caring bloke with no other signs of odd behaviour I gave it another year but could never get the trust back. So I did the dumping. I actually really miss him as he was spectacular in bed and made me laugh.

I finished a 12 hour shift and waited as usual for him to collect me. 2 hours later I couldnt get hold of him so decided to walk home (there were no buses & i had no money for a taxi - it took just over an hour)

When i got home all his stuff was gone. I havent seen him since.

I was 20 weeks pregnant at the time. There was no warning, no signs. He just up & left quietly.

My son is 14 now and never met him.

Went up to visit for a long weekend, prebooked trains. Arrived and 2 days in said it wasn't working.

I mean I agreed but having to spend 2 more days in the house or pay £90 for a new train was a tough choice...

I was living in a b&b with my baby son on my 19th birthday, the lady who ran the b&b gave me a pile of cards, there was also a letter in the pile. Opened the birthday cards, one being from my then boyfriend saying how much he loved me, opened the letter & it was also from him saying we're over, crying I went to my room heartbroken. He turned up half an hour later to take me out for the day not realising his letter had mistakenly arrived a day early, he'd sent it second class post.

I don't want to go into details but my ex wife nearly broke me and destroyed my world in a most cruel way. It was the lowest, loneliest place I've ever been in my life (and I've had some dark times). A place I hope never to be again. But the sun always rises again. I am a different person from what I was. I understand the world differently, I know myself more than ever before and I know how strong I am despite also being a sensitive soul. I am if I'm honest proud of the man I am. And through it all (and because of FAB) I have found my best freind, my lover and my soul mate. If it wasn't for my ex wife and what she did to me I would not be the man I am now or have found the amazing woman I'm with. Life is sometimes a battle, it leaves scars (external and internal) and pain. But I wear them as battle honours, they tell my story and remind me where I've come from. I am damaged and sometimes the past causes me pain still but that pain is evidence of a life lived. No one in this life is ment to be kept in perfect boxed condition. I dont like pain but neither do I fear it. I know that without fail the sun will always rise eventually.

Being sent a big long emotional break up message on Facebook from the only girl I've ever truly fallen in love with who was working abroad at the time about how I was an amazing guy but she was struggling with the distance etc, which was hard enough but I kind of understood, only for her Facebook relationship status change literally hours later to being in a relationship with some guy she was working with so it had obviously been going on for a while. It absolutely broke me and I was a wreck for weeks. Even 10 years on it still stings a bit when I think about it.

I had a friend a few years ago, who’s Sister died in an accident she phoned her boyfriend to tell him, and he said I know it’s not a good time but we arnt working. That was 20 plus years ago and it still shocks me to think how vile that actually was.

A girlfriend at uni texted me to split up with me over the summer saying she wanted to work hard the next year. Barely had time to read that when I got another message that was obviously meant for another guy saying 'it's done, want to come over and fuck?'.

I threw out the USB drive she'd left at mine with some of her uni work on

I only found out I'd be ditched once when I lost my phone and went to message on messenger to say I'd be uncontactable for a little while to see she'd blocked me without warning. Turns out she'd moved on to the next chap and just couldn't be arsed to say she didn't want to see me again. She clearly didn't known me well because if she'd said, I'd of been fine with it, I dont see the point in playing games. Still I was gutted for a little while afterwards over the way it ended

I was seeing a lady off another site,we seemed to be getting on ok,well she was great fun in bed. She whatsap'd me saying she wanted me to buy her some ear rings she'd seen for £80 ! I messaged back to say that wasn't going to happen,she messaged back to tell me unless I bought her the ear rings she didn't want to see me again. Not seen or heard from her since.

Had been cheating on me with a friend for about a month, I caught them. Why she didn't just break up with me I've no idea. So lost Girlfriend and Mate in one go, which fucked mates group up entirely and I ended up leaving it.

Absolute worst was when I was 19. The guy (in his 30s) I'd been dating for almost 2 years proposed to his best friend in a crowded pub one night while I was home visiting my family. She accepted. Everyone knew before I did. All our friends and colleagues. I found out a few days later when I returned. I walked in to our local to meet him and she was there with him, wearing a big sparkly engagement ring and all the pub regulars waiting to see him tell me. I was completely floored. One of the most humiliating experiences of my life.

I’ve never been dumped, I’ve certainly tested my limits lol no angel but never dumped, think I’m too easy going. The saddest time I dumped someone, they locked themselves in my wardrobe singing to me for a good hour. poor lad we were only kids but always stuck with me
