FWB and FB

Friend with benefits and Fuck buddy.

To some they are very different, to others they are the same thing. Do you have one or the other, maybe you have both?

How do you class FWB compared to FB? Do you have a whole different arrangement?

For me they are different.

FWB is a friend just as much, if not more than just a sexual partner. You would hang out together, sex always an option but never the only option.

FB is a glorified booty call. You enjoy their company to a certain point but it is all about the sex. Very little social side to it that only happens if sex is included.

That’s a good point and never thought of it like that before

I've had both and currently have a fb. I would say that your description is spot on. However I chat to my fb a lot non sexual too but we wouldn't do anything other than meet for regular sex

Totally spot on. I have a fwb and we hang out. We hate being alone and enjoy each other’s company. He’s a friend and we do end up naked and having fun when the mood takes us. But he is a friend first and foremost x

I assumed most would see it as I do, but have had people on the past argue its the same thing.

Random early thoughts getting me thinking.

"So whats difference between fwb and bf/ gf then?"

Romance, a deeper connection. Though that depends on how you define bf/gf.

I could say commitment is the difference

My 1st reaction was that they are both the same. I think that's becauae I have had a couple fuck buddies who have turned into FWB.

Thinking about it You put it I agree there is a difference. I much prefer the FWB tho have to say it can get complicated if 1 is keener than the other. I have found this and we ended up falling out which is a shame he's a great guy.

Ah yes, very good point. That also.

Its like I have friends I don't want to have sex with.

I have friends that I do.

Then there is that extra level of connection and commitment, and want of being in their company that nobody else could provide, on all levels.

Casual sex, if you want that, is great, but long term i think it can desensitise you, if you’re not careful.

Yep. I've just used the terms interchangeably. People I just fuck I don't really have a term for.

Yeah I think so too. A FB for me has to be someone that I like more than for just their body but, I don't necessarily want to become oo invested in.

Good definitions, OP. I have a few FBs, but FWB are harder to find.

I'm quite good company, honestly..
