...Up on the Downs

Why, why does my cat catch live mice, bring them in, let them go upstairs, and then RUN AWAY!!!

I went to get my tupperware mouse-catcher and now I can't find said mouse, I will just have to wait until it appears and tries to make a run for it!

Mine loved to leave dead mice for me at the end of the bed.

NOT a nice thing to step on in the dark, barefoot.

Aren't cats wonderful???

We had this in the summer when the back door was left open. She can't manage to bring them through the cat flap luckily

Mine can, and her 'safe place' when she came from the rescue centre was under the bed in a spare room, so that's where she aims for!!!

Also I work upstairs, so she's bringing me gifts......she gets very upset when I don't like them! At least my last cat carried on hunting them!

Nooo, can't live without a cat, it's the law - and if I don't have one, one comes and finds me!

There and to the left a bit

We were on holiday and got sent a pic by the person who was coming in to feed the cats of a magpie one of them had bought in still alive - said magpie was on top of the kitchen units in the pic but before flying up there had managed to crap everywhere!!

Living on the edge of a woods, we get all sorts of gifts from the cats, who are adorable yet psycho killers, from mice to a partridge and even a squirrel!!

I wish mine was a psycho killer, she's a human trapper at the moment!!

Is there a mouse forum?

Leave out a small toy car and some cheese. When he gets into the car the cheese will weigh him down making him slower so you can catch him.

Mine left one outside the bedroom door: Sergey Bubka would have been impressed with the height I jumped!

She used to bring live mice in, much to the enjoyment of the other half who said it was like a live version of Tom and Jerry...as he pissed himself laughing at my running around screeching!

Luckily they don't bother me and I am quite adept at caching them under a tupperware pot when I can find them, but this one has disappeared, and I don't like the idea of it piddling all over my carpet then dying behind the furniture!!

They bring in live mice in a misguided attempt to teach you to hunt for yourself, watch for the look of disgust you get when you don't immediately hunt, catch, kill and eat them.

I am now barricaded in my room behind a mouse-proof barrier that the cat can jump over...but there is no sign of said cat, who has taken to heart the 'tone' with which I shouted her name when she brought it in, has fled the scene of the crime at every opportunity and is hanging out under a radiator at the other end of the house!

( WEST OF ) Chippenham ish

My 4 bring in all sorts, live and dead, depends which catches what. But I've found cats are better than some people, so I guess they're staying.

OMG I’d have a heartache. Glad I live in a flat so my cats are indoor cats, I do have a balcony though. My youngest one thinks it fun to catch those nasty big black flies in the summer time, bring them in and slowly torture them by letting it go then catching it. Bloody psycho.

My friends cat brought a live Vole into the house last week - a play date said Vole didn’t really like lol

The Vole was caught, fed and released and the cat was instructed ‘ mummy prefers flowers!’
