Always panic a little bit when I end a thread because I'm never sure whether to start a new one or if someone else well and then I just look like a loser that started a duplicated thread.

"I'm not minding that there's a few of us awake

The forum seems busier now than it did it tea time. Lol

That's it... 2am Friday is the new 5pm...

It’s a 2am forum orgy .

I'm in

Some needs to supply nibbles. I believe a small Buffett is standard at orgies.

What's customary? crisps, nuts, chocolates, fruits, cooked meats? lol

Olives, cheeses and a meat platter!

Not forgetting warm crusty bread with real butter

Real butter, not had any of that since Fiji...

Sorry to be a party pooper but I just think nibbles at an orgy is just unhygienic! "

I kinda agree, but the couple of parties I’ve been too involved buffets before the fun. It’s quintessentially British, so has to be done.

Finger sandwiches

I do love a good finger, don’t you D?

I was using my fingers to make sweet music earlier .

We need pineapple + cheese on sticks. Their absence would be a heinous oversight.

Oh I agree it is not a party without pineapple and cheese sticks.

My mouth is watering at the thought....

The thought of what though

Now I want cheese and pineapple! My mouth starting to water and I might be dribbling a little bit

As long as they’re not on a pizza, I can take that.

Have you had the soft cheese with pineapple from Aldi?

No I haven't but I will definitely give that ago.

I love cottage cheese with pineapple in.

Yes - I got there early. A woman dressed as a nun was busy making finger sandwiches in the kitchen.

There’s something rather sweet about seeing a few people taking a break and standing around with paper plates filled with sandwiches.

Very British.

Yeah it's been a strange few months really. Battled a couple of things and my mum has been pretty ill too. Thankfully she's been told that she doesn't need further treatment at this stage.

"I like random & happy!

There’s never enough happy in the world

I agree, and I probably needed this thread. I have been applying for jobs for the last couple of hours.

Oh good luck Mr H!

I’m job hunting too at the moment, just waiting for a few bits to fall in to place First.

Best of luck! Hope ithappens for you pixie x

With me I've got a gap in my CV to explain or admit I was ill and felt I had to leave my last job, so with some applications I may have bee too honest for my own good, its a big game tweaking everything.

I remember lurking & seeing that.

It happens to a lot of us.

Life throws curveballs and it’s how you deal with it that matters.

Sabbaticals are fine to take you know x

Yeah it's been a strange few months really. Battled a couple of things and my mum has been pretty ill too. Thankfully she's been told that she doesn't need further treatment at this stage.

I now feel ready to take on the world again. Maybe that;s the answer, just refer to the gap as a sabbatical.

It’s life, things happen.

It’s not what we plan for but real life takes us many directions.

Sometimes you need to take a step back and reasses your path.

No-one can fault a person for doing that. "

Wise words

Try to turn it into a positive - I had to say something like “I did have to leave that job, but I re-assessed and did X,Y and Z in order to improve my skills and prove my worth”

True Pixie Ive learned a lot since I finished the full time work and don't regret any of my choices of part-time work since.

I hit the reset button trying to take my career on a different path that hasn't quite worked so need something to bring the pennies in whilst still maintaining some of the other stuff I do and enjoy.

This probably sounds like I am typing in riddles and if so, I apologise. It's probably good to get something put down anyway.

I agree, I did 16 years in the same job, but I got stale and when I looked at it the only thing keeping me there were the people I worked with.

The whole ethos of the business changed in that time and I didn't like the way it was heading.

Oh, I agree. It’s just it’ll probably get to the point where we put one letter per post or something.

I feel a bit different. I think there’s been loads of great chats in the forums in the years I’ve been on here.

Sometimes on very serious subjects -there’s been amazing ones on mental health.

I think the Fab forums are generally pretty positive compared to other forums. It’s not changed that much in my eight years either.

That’s just my opinion though.

Cheers, it’s been good chat. Not enough of it on here. Some people take themselves too seriously. Always nice to be nice "

Can we regenerate the buffet?"

We can try - it’s looking like an all male orgy now .

That’s just my opinion though."

Yeah the Mental Health ones have been great, they were a good source of comfort and support for me and I feel compelled to respond far more to them myself now.

I’m not generalising, I joined here for a fun but I’ve found that it’s sometimes difficult because some people have made it so. I like people until they do something wrong I’ve noticed on fab that a lot judge first which I don’t think is right and I put it down too people having a wall up, I might be wrong though lol

That’s cool.

I’ve been a member of forums that are far worse than Fab for egos, bad behaviour, trolling etc.

These forums are also great vetting places where in reading them you think, nope I disagree with nearly everything they say, they come across as this, or that.

Right through to: that person is smart, I like chatting with them, wow! We have loads in common..

That’s fair enough - I feel differently about the forums, but accept that’s just my take on it.

I’m sure some people looking in on this thread think the BBW are a horrific clique, btw, but it’s not really like that

What’s the Planes, Trains.... game btw.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that film!

I haven’t seen Dirty Dancing either. That was on principle though, because the girls in my 6th kept hogging the stereo in the common room

and playing the soundtrack.

I don’t hold grudges, honest

There’s probably people who think you are though.

My personal opinion, and I’ve said it a few times, is that the only real clique on Fab is the “I hate Fab, it’s really cliquey” clique.

Oh it was just a scene from that film where the two guys share a room and wake up the next morning cuddling each other... when they realise they both leap out of bed and start talking in deep voices about the football.. haha

I started a thread with a daft title like that once, think it was something along the lines of.. "This isn't cliquey - we are very inclusive."

That’s nice.

Nothing wrong with daft - I’ve started some really stupid threads over the years. I’ve hung my head in shame when I’ve loojed at some of the shots I’ve posted too.

It kinda goes with the territory!

Pixie, Intrigued, See, Lorna - wake up. Oi - WAKE UP .

It was a noble effort and a joy.

Yeah, we need one of those DUP dudes. They’d be great fun.

Actually, Sammy, Arlene and the rest are probably on here.

As Jack Nicholson famously said - “show me a man with a holier than thou attitude and I’ll show you a man who pays two tranvestites to p*as on his face”

I realise Arlene is a woman - sort of.
