Body image issue for men

So ide like to first say im not a particularly shy guy im shorter than almost all of my friends but that's seemed to never hinder my confidence when approaching women as a friend or as a relationship FWB.

However one thing that occasionally gets me abit worried is body hair I'm a man and I know it natural to have a hairy chest ect but sometimes I feel myself becoming a wookie,

I'm not in bad shape and exercise daily and have often contemplated trimming or shaving my body hair but have worried about what a potential partner might think as it does not seem like the "manly thing to do "

Long winded question but if anyone can chime in I would apreciate feedback from women and men.

I have practically no chest hair and feel that women prefer the rug...

Manchester (she/her)

If you don't like it, get rid of it. It can honestly go either way. But you do what works for you and your body.

You are who you are if you shave it off for one woman then next one may like a hairy chest and you will be going round in circles be happy with what you are

Ultimately, you wear it how you like it.

Would you really contemplate a change just to satisfy someone's preference.

If a hottie said "I love a waxed chest", and she wanted you. Would you do it? But then the next lady you plan to meet says " ooooo I do love a good chest wig". Do you then spend months re-growing?

It’s neither here nor there if you shave your chest in my opinion. It’s entirely your choice about how you want to feel - the touch on the skin feels different when you are shaved to when you are hairy.

Personally I like a hairy chested man - but I wouldn’t turn down a smooth or shaved chest. Sexual chemistry is much more important.

Some might not like it but i think you'll find most have more important criteria you have to worry about.

Just be yourself, if you think it's a disadvantage concentrate on letting your finer attributes shine through.

Find a good beautician and get it waxed

If I like someone I like them. I want them to be relaxed with me so that includes being comfortable with their own body. Everyone is different and capable of making their own decisions re grooming.

If someone is gonna reject you because you do/don't have chest hair are they really the type of person you'd want to meet anyway?

Also consider / a hairy chest keeps you warm in the winter. A smooth one cooler in the summer (though more prone to sunburn)

I'm hairy. I tend to groom the areas that matter.. my betty swollocks and such. If left intended for too long, my shoulders get hairy, which I don't like. So I do something about it. I'll trim my chest occasionally to keep it from looking like a magpie nest.

Another side of me also prefers to be fully smooth in most places. Thankfully it's not a regular occurrence or my skin couldn't take it I don't think.

End of the day, hair grows back. Experiment to see what you like most yourself, for yourself. Not the rest. People tend to put your personality and vibe over most physical features. The more I continue to use this site honestly, as the real me, be it thoughts, looks, what I write, how I behave and what I look like.. The more I'm finding there are exceptions to every rule. Just be you, your hairy self, if it makes you happy and more confident.

In my experience, there are LOADS of women who ababsolutely adore a hairy chest.

Some women like it, some dont, so its both a blessing & a curse,. Just do watever you feel comfortable with.

On fab, your height is the biggest issue, as the vast majority of women look at that (& will write you off because of it) before they look at your pics.

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

I fortunately don't have much body hair and groom what I have in excess. Some women prefer men with more body hair. Run with what's comfortable for you. Ultimately, your personality may be a bigger factor of potential success than your body hair anyways.

I agree with everyone else. Do what you want to do. I prefer not too hairy but it definitely wouldn’t be a deal breaker. The only thing that would be with regards to hair would be beards and moustaches. I just can’t, it’s like a phobia!
