Been working for Starbucks for about 3 year so I'm definitely biased.

Costa, most definitely. Has a much nicer and stronger blend of coffee. Can't stand the stuff from Starbucks

Neither, much prefer little privately owned independant coffee shops.

There and to the left a bit

Of the two Costa would get my vote - prefer the coffee, they have a much better loyalty scheme that doesn't expect you to bank money so they can make interest off it (unlike Starbucks) and they don't have the dubious attitude towards paying UK tax either

the right frame of mind -London

Neither -I hate branded venues with no soul -would far rather support an independent coffee shop if I can -and actually feel like I can chat with the satff without them having to meet their smile quota for the day

Out of the 2, Costa. I boycott Starbucks due to their tax practices and recent link-up with Nestle (who I also boycott).

I MUCH prefer an independent but appreciate it's not always possible to find one when you have limited time and a restricted search area.

Starbucks is my last choice, in fact, I’d rather go without and that’s something for a coffee drinker to admit to! If it has to be a chain, it’s Neros.

I drink tea, neither chain can provide one in a China cup poured from a teapot with a nitted cosy like my favourite cafe, so neither.

Oh and their cheesecakes are to die for! And as I am the self proclaimed Queen of cheesecake that is high praise!

I don't get Costas

If I want a coffee I should be able to get it the strength I want not have to pay for extra shots!!! I think people choose their coffee shops like they do their branded clothing,

Rather have a Greg's with a cob for half the price anyway

I like coffee without it being dicked about with.

Not a great deal of difference between the two. Tend to favour Costa, but that's only because there are more Costas near me.

Costa is gross - bland coffee.

Starbucks out of those.... Neros a better choice

Or independent coffee shops are my fave

Live in Scotland Play in England

I really don't enjoy the over roasted coffee served by the big coffee chains. I actually hated coffee and couldn't drink the stuff until I discovered coffee in Italy a few years back and was surprised i like it. That's when i discovered the problem with Starbucks Costa coffee was the over roasted beans.

Now I much prefer freshly extracted at home using my own espresso machine. And lattes with a dollop of double cream stirred through are my addiction
