did anyone watch the programme on BBC3 about catching HPV virus from oral sex? it can sometimes then cause throat cancer, girls are vaccinated now but not cost effective to do boys apparently, but you can pay privately at £300, how unfair?

If there are vaccinating girls but not boys there will be a good reason why, the NHS do not value female life over male

Have just watched the programme and was relieved at the end when they said that the NHS were reviewing the policy of not vaccinating in light of the rising numbers. It is outrageous that the boys don't get the jab

the DOH reckon doing the girls will protect the boys, but not all girls are having it and what about gay or Bi boys? comes back round to the old condoms for oral question,

The biggest risk if infected by hpv is cervical cancer so to reduce the risk girls should be vaccinated.

The risk of throat cancer in males is slight so not so unfair

Girls are being given the HPV vaccine to protect them from cervical cancer not throat cancer, but all the better if it protects them from both.

However, it is more politicaly expedient to value fems more than males. They tend to vote more often, they are more likely to change their votes (ie they more rarely say, im a labour/tory/lib dem voter and always will be) and you can be damn sure that there would be a massive hugh and cry if the NHS were to vacinate men and not women.........

There is always something thats going to give you cancer though, such as drinking too much vodka and smoking, i prefer to take the risk.

Thats it, you could be good and only ever have had sex with your partner, and still get cancer, and have missed out on having lots of fun.
