It's a tough choice but if you had to pick just one, what would you choose as your favourite guitar riff?

I'll kick off with Back In Black by AC/DC

Good thread!

As a keen guitar player I’ve enjoyed looking at the suggestions and which I can play. And noting those which I need to learn.

My list is probably more which do I enjoy playing the most. I’ll keep it short.

Voodoo Chile. Obviously.

Gimme Shelter opening riffs.

Everlong.

I’m off to learn some AC/DC.

Bye all.

Judging from some of these nominations, I'm fairly sure that quite a few people have no idea what a riff actually is.

The intro to Smoke on the water is a riff.

Tony peluso's part in Goodbye to Love is a solo.

Likewise, Sweet Home Alabama's intro is a riff, whilst Little Wing has no discernable riff and would likely be classed as a guitar instrumental until the vocal comes in.
