I really don't follow recipes with mine,I throw whatever I've got in & hope for the best...it's not failed me yet.

My only tip is lots of flavouring as it can be a bit bland xx

I normally start my recipes on the hob. Brown the meat first etc.

A "fakeaway" kebab done in the slow cooker can be good. You'll have to google the recipe though as I have only done it once.

They use lots of ingredients though, but you can get the spices already mixed.

Shakshuka do rhe curries tomatoes the night before (nice with a bit morrocan style sausages) then make 4 dents crack the eggs into to them pop the lid back on by the time youve set the table or the toast is cooked your eggs are perfectly poached.

And its ready to serve.

Very stylish looking breakfast/bruch with no hassle ^_^

I cover a chopping board in herbs and seasoning and roll the beef in it so it's all covered.

Sear beef all sides. Chop onions, carrots, celery, herbs and put them in the pot. Put the beef on top. Add couple hundred mill of beef stock. Red wine stock pot. Herbs and cook for about 6 hours.

I don't eat the veg but I either discard to blend them up in the liquor. I pour the liquor into a wide surface pan and boil it hard so it reduces a bit. Be careful on this bit.

Have a look on YouTube. I think it's the easiest way to start using your pot. It's basic.

Don't lift the lid to have a peak, trust the 6 hours.

Your beef do sent shrivel, can slice it about 1cm thick and it will melt in your mouth.

I haven't roasted beef in my oven for 3 years now.

As mentioned, have a look on you tube

I have quite a well stocked larder but I found it expensive to buy all the extra ingredients. If you're using spices regularly it's not so bad, because you use them in other recipes, but to buy 6 or 7 jars of spices or bunches of herbs is a bit much for one meal.

"What does a whole chicken taste like done in a slow cooker ? "

Okay but you need to prep it first. Skin doesn’t crisp up, so skin your chicken. Rub a chicken stock cube all over it (similar to what supermarkets do) and there you are.

Put on a bed of sliced onions/carrots/ celery etc, and you’ve got stock for a great gravy when finished.

"What does a whole chicken taste like done in a slow cooker ?

Very moist."

One of the best chickens I have cooked is with half a can of beer shoved up its arse/neck.

Cover your chicken in butter. Throw dry herbs at it. Cracking a can of beer open and pour half in a glass.

Put the half empty can in a roasting tray and plonk your chicken upright on the can.

It's so moisty you can shake the chicken and the bones fall out.

Beer Can Chicken. Looks funny aswell
