I get bored of texting someone so just end up ringing them, if their voice is deeper than mine I usually hang up and stop texting.

Talking on the telephone has it's issues:

You give someone your number so they intrude into your life whenever they want to. Apps allow you to log off.

Talking on the phone is more intimate than say relatively anonymous messages on an app.

You have to make time for someone to enjoy a call.

Phone calls are either related to work or for family and friends, not strangers off t'interweb.

In my opinion obviously.

Oh I quite enjoy a phone call. I prefer a video call but still, if seeing someone isn't possible it's nice to hear their voice and not just read their words. You can hear their warmth and understand their feelings far better. And it's fun!

Kind of similar for me, my first job was in one of the busiest call centers in Europe at the time. People used to wait ages on hold by the time they got through to me they were already 9 out 10 times the used to be vial and hard to deal with. I've hated answering phones since then. I do speak on the phone when I have too and I put people on speaker phone where I can.

I know I come across as traditional or possibly even old fashioned both here and in real life because I am but that doesn't necessarily mean that I possess all the characteristics you'd normally associate with that. I'm on a swingers site with my tits out for goodness sake!

Of course meeting in person is the only way as I'm a firm believer in body language being an amazing thing, but having a choice between messaging or talking on the phone, I'll pick the phone call any day.

Personality is easier to judge over the phone for me and I'm very different in actuality than online because my energy and humour doesn't transmogrify well into text.

A lot of people write amazingly when given time to plan a response and I have found this lacking when on the phone so saves me meeting them in person.

People were usually pleased to hear from me because I'd be negotiating a purchase from them (unless they were late with delivering it) so I didn't mind talking to them. It was surprising though how many people with a confident phone manners were shy and retiring in person.

Text to make contact, text to see if they can string some sentences together that make sense, see if they respond to my humour, see if they return for more: then it's face to face. Never found phone being any more or less reliable than texting, could be a friend lol.

See thats what im like text is nice in that you csn both respond then reply at will rather than having to imediatley.

Everyone knows now that if they ring me i wont answer if its important to text.

But i also have no vibrate and no ring on my phone as i turned them off jist a little light blinks
