How often do you really check the oil water and brake fluid in your car?

And tyres??? How often do you really check them and the pressures??

Honest answers only

I always plan to check it all every week like you're supposed to, but it's usually more like every few months or so when the engine starts sounding different or the way the car moves on the road feels a bit different

Cars are much more reliable today, but even with regular servicing, oil should be checked as you don't want the car telling you it is low with red oil light, brake fluid is regularly checked and changed with servicing, possibly changed more than it need be, the thing that is more difficult to check is disk thickness and pads, regular servicing again takes care of this.

Tyre pressure should be checked regular in cold weather and you will find the pressure fluctuates with the ambient temp, many cars will pick up on a pressure differentiation between all 4 tyres and will automatically advise you, its good to check for nails and sharp objects within tyre thread.

at this time of year it can be worthwhile keeping various items in the car in case of breakdown or getting stuck in snow etc

I check my tyres every time I drive... if there are any missing I'm not going anywhere.

Once a month, for good reason. Once let the engine seize due to no oil when younger, NEVER again.

As for tyre pressure, the sensors are ridiculously sensitive, if they're down even lightly it comes up on the dash. Irritatingly it won't go off untill you've reset and recorded each tyre pressure into the memory.

Not often enough, I really should get into the habit of doing it regularly.

I only normally check when I'm going somewhere that's not close to home - so about every 2 months

A world all of his own

The problem is, with level sensor on everything and tpms there's no real *need* to so I've become very lazy

Car has the sensors for tyres and oil, break fluid.

I do checks when I wash my car about once a month or two months. Usually fill my tyres about every 3 months.

Tyres can tell just looking if they need filling as get in the car or walk past the car.

Even tho I do alot of miles never have to top up any fluid other than tyres. Also goes in for full dealership service every year (cheaper than any garage )
