I grew up after they’d started so I read the books first and just generally assumed they were written first like most tv shows these days

Personally I think it's a combination of enjoying your time here as much as possible (however short/long) and leaving the world in abetter state than when you arrived, whether that's a small detail or a huge change.

Is to NOT fall into the trap of an endless persuit of money.. to take value from the present and live as best you can, understanding that the people that touch your life will not be perfect so give them a chance and you may discover value, happiness and most importantly true love...I did, she’s my wife, my love of twenty years and perfection personified..

Your born and then you die, what you do between that is down to you, theres no second chance at it, you only live once as they say.
