As someone who used to go by the name of Harry Grundlebush, I personally enjoy jokey usernames. It shows that the user doesn't take themselves too seruously.

I tend to agree but seems you have to tread so very carefully not to deter folk who don't these days ;-(

To be fair, that just makes it a good filter. Someone who will judge a person negatively for having a goofy username is probably not the kind of person I want to spend time with anyway.
