So, has anyone read one of these, not seen their name and then blocked (or just gone off someone) because they weren't named by them?

It really does make me laugh when I read through these threads and see comments like that.

Surely if you have the hots for someone, it's better that they know about it. After all, they might feel the same way about you, but because you haven't mentioned them, they might equally be worried about rejection.

On the other hand, if you do reveal who you like, and they feel the same way, then you have the chance to do something about it.

No. I don't expect to be called out, in fact I'd find it kind of awkward. People can message me if they want to, or admire from afar if they're more comfortable that way.

Mostly I interact with people that don’t go on the forums. I just treat the forums as a bit of a giggle. I don’t care if I’m not mentioned and I don’t take it that seriously. I did name on the other thread because I think LaceyandSam are hot tottie why wouldn’t I mention them?

Bit extreme to block people or take the hump though surely?

Oh I thought they were not naming for fear of upsetting the person they named and getting blocked by them! Although it was all said in a joke way I think. Maybe I read it wrong. I dunno. I just see all those types of things as a bit of fun tbh.

I got mentioned on a nice guys type thread once, bit of a surprise as I’m a twat really.

I never get mentioned on the ‘crushes’ type threads and frankly I’d be very surprised if I was.

And the Forum users are far too polite to name me on the Forumites that piss you off type threads.

I think those type of threads are no more than a bit of fun, with the potential for a bit of an ego boost (albeit a fleeting one) and an ice breaker at best - any one taking them seriously enough to get the hump because they're not named needs to give their head a serious wobble.

Now I'm off to find that thread to see if anyone named me and there'll be hell to pay if they haven't

I thought the fact that I'm not naming anyone was me not taking it seriously enough. Can't win!

I have a none issue with naming them but I don't feel the need to as explained above.

Not do I care if I'm named or not (always nice to be named by a surprise admirer though).

As I say if I have a crush on them I'll message regardless of anything else.
