Stopping junk emails.

We are getting a considerable amount of Spam emails, mostly about Asian Brides & Keto diets, they are all without exception originating from America.

On a daily basis I unsubscribe (although been told they then know the email is active) even the unsubscribe link appears to be the same, even though the contents different, I also move it to the spam folder so it should remember, but it all seems to fall on deaf ears.

Apart from setting up a new address is there anything else one can do?

If its going straight to your spam folder just ignore it..

And stop looking at dodgy porn sites

Agreed. Just empty your spam once a day without looking into the mails. Any others that come into your inbox either "report spam" or "block" but under no circumstances should you ever click on a link in an email you aren't 100% sure is safe, even if it says to unsubscribe

I get loads of sexy girls wanting sex with me tonight or tomorrow. Plus people who want me to pay them in Bitcoin because they've caught me on camera watching porn and wanking and are going to release the footage to all of my contacts if I don't.

I don't even have a camera on my pc??

Thanks for those that read correctly, these are not going into my Spam folder I’m having to manually move them there every time. The only time I look at my spam folder is if I’m missing an email that may have ended there by mistake.

I've found gmail pretty robust most of the time. But I suppose it depends on a number of factors.

The last thing you’d want to do is unsubscribe. All that does is indicate to the spammer that your email address is active, so they just keep spamming you.

Depending on your email provider and mail client, simply flagging the email as spam, or moving it to your junk folder, is usually enough for the system to learn that that particular email is spam.

You can also try blocking the sender, or in some extreme cases, the senders domain, but do bear in mind that you risk also blocking legitimate email coming from that domain as well.

Once you start getting them it's almost impossible to stop without closing down your email address. Once the spammers know it's a 'live' email address it will get shared with other spammers. Even opening a spam email can tell them it's live, as they can track email opens via tracking pixels or because the images have been downloaded by a particular tracked email, and of course also by you clicking fake unsubscribe links.

The best thing is to not open anything in your inbox that looks too dodgy, send it to your spam folder and delete from there. As someone above said, gmail is really good at diverting spam email to your spam folder automatically. One of my gmail addresses used to get over 150 spam emails a week, but they never ended up in my inbox. After about 3 years that number is down to around 10 a week

i found it easier to just get another email address similar to one you have ie: j.smith@gmail to j.smith 678@gmail & let your friends)/ works know.then if spam keeps arriving on other then delete address after a while.

Well that’s interesting, fake unsubscribe links. In all honesty it’s probably better to change our email address. Out of curiosity why is the majority of spam American?

Block the sender's domain.

And do what I do. Have one email address for bills and important things, ensure you don't click subscribe to newsletters and unsubscribe from any you do get.

Another email for anything else and all web site sign ups. No need to ever check what comes through as nothing important.

Use a online email. Yahoo mail is very good at catching and blocking spam. I even published my junk email all other the web and to porn sites sign ups. Probably get 5 emails a day junk if I'm lucky.

Block the domain if you have that option. In most spam/fraud emails, every clickable link leads to the same page. Never interact with the email in any way, use your email providers spam tools instead.
