Or, we get so much mail that we don't have much opportunity to message first (it just keeps coming), and at least I'm cautious in who I meet and wouldn't dream of jumping the several steps I use to determine if someone is safe, respectful, etc.

It's just my opinion..there a lot of time wasters on here and that probably includes men but I wouldn't know as I'm straight

The fact of the matter on here is that women raise there standards on here and men seriously have to drop them to get a meet. I've had a few winks of women before or messages and I'll take a look but some I'm sorry to say are just not very attractive and rather not have a meet for the sake of it but a lot of guys will on here. I think if you spent the time to write a message then the other person should always reply

A good pic is anything that catches the eye and makes you click on the profile. Looking at my 'you've fabbed' file that's usually a good torso pic that makes me go 'Oooft' in my case, but it could also be something moody, intriguing, or something with dramatic lighting, or of course, someone who's face I found attractive or striking. I like unusual or arty ones too - there's some great ones with seascapes or night skies etc.
