"Bookmarking Not experienced.....I found last year it was my toes that were always cold. " Sealskin socks are good for cold toes. They are sold as waterproof, which I find they are pretty useless at, but they are really good for keeping your toes warm They are quite expensive, but I find them great.

"Experienced runners, have you got any winter running tips?" Appropriate kit is the obvious one, particularly for the extremities. I'm not a fan of the dark so do some treadmill sessions to make it less monotonous and also run commute so I don't need to drag myself back out doors once I get home on an evening

"Just in reply to the last thread the c25k app I’m using doesn’t specify speeds to run at. I’ve self imposed 6mph or 10kmh as i want to complete the 5k in half an hour. Typical though completed week 2 on Sunday and now have a cold and feel like crap so probably going to wait a few days as I currently can’t stop sneezing " Rest up and when your not chesty and feeling better, get back out there. Your doing really well

"Woohoo go me just ran the 20 mins straight......walked for a min stretching my legs then continued another 5 mins as it was my downhill stretch damn thing took me 3 or 4 attempts last year Would like to say the hills are my killers, don't know if this means much but I start at 166m and run down to 101m, 1st steep incline is up to 120m then back down but a gradual up to 135m, steep down to 101 (my extra at the moment lol) then a walk home back up to 166m I've not used strava for my pace, just happy that I'm doing it at the moment, my end goal would be 2 laps of my course. No cold feet today but I used a pair of my walking sox Yay *happy dances* " Super proud of you right now and I'm going to join you in that *happy dance* Oh and I see what you mean by hills, they are a little bit bigger then mole hills aren't they?

"So will everyone still be going out this weekend even with the bad weather? I'm still parkrunning, but might choose a slightly less muddy one " Yes will be at my normal one. It will be interesting as the landowner has done quite a bit of work on the surface and with so basic drainage in places sonce last winter so tomorrow wI'll be the first chance to see how effective it. And then it will be off with the trail shoes and on with the road ones for a 10+ mile run home afterwards so glad the forecast is good

"Done another 5k on the treadmill today, weirdly can run 5k on treadmill and could probably keep going, stick me outside to run and can’t complete a 5k without a cheeky wee walk in the middle. I have challenged myself to complete one by the end of February though, I can do this Any tips on avoiding the pins and needles in my foot which happens around the 25 min mark would be appreciate though. " You probably start out paces too high when you're outside.. Get Strava or RunKeeper set it to tell you your pace so you don't overexert yourself in the first 10 to 15 minutes

"Morning FCRC, don't know what's wrong with me lately. Get mentally ready to run, go out, 'can't be arsed' kicks in and well, meh! I've been like this for over a week now Managed 18.8km this morning in 1:49:49, could of, should of, gone further! " That's a super run so don't beat yourself up. Do you have a race or challenge coming up? If not, that can make it hard to keep motivated esp if running alone

" I've been feeling the same, and have a marathon coming up at the end of April. To be honest I wouldn't worry too much as for a half you don't need to be doing extra long distances. You have proven you can do 21k, so you have that in the bag. Get out and put yourself down for a few shorter races over the next couple of months. Gives you a target to go for that is nearer. Then you'll have some speed in your, rather delicious, legs and can spend the couple of warmer and sunnier months getting ready for your half.
