"we get all four seasons, usually all in one day...." Last time I was in Texas, pretty sure it was April, we had a hail storm with ice chunks that really hurt in the morning, then so hot in the afternoon we were getting dehydrated between fuel stops. Plan on riding in the USA this summer but coming in via Canada as it's easier to bring my bike that route. Hope to get down south but not sure of the route yet.

I made a couple of posts but then I ended up feeling tired and going to bed so I probably missed a few people. I ended up waking at half 7 then sleeping in the afternoon. I don't know what's up with my body clock. My body clock is broken! I think it needs new batteries. I have to agree with that! Or someone to put a bit of life into me! " Yes that too.

" Get one, they bring so much pleasure. Hubby always said no, when I wanted a cat, but when Molly turned up, he couldn't say no, she was so thin and tired, trying to fend for her kittens, and having been dumped. So now she sleeps on our bed and at 6 in the morning, she is rubbing her nose on hubbys nose, because he feeds her breakfast it looks so sweet

"Evening Jim Not feeling so well this evening, gone deaf in one ear...I know I have another, but it's annoying . Off to.gp tomorrow Good eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevening, Samiss. Flipping heck, that's not good. Think it's an inner ear infection, had it before. Taking my dad for a cataract op as well, so busy day on the medical front Hope you feel better very soon. X Thank you lovely Lorna x I am waiting for a cataract op ( Yes, young to have them I know) but I'm needing to wait a while for a number of reasons. I am a little nervous for what I'll feel like after the surgery. If you can, please let me know how your dad gets on. It would be helpful to know how others feel after the surgery. Aah bless you, you are very young. Well we've spoken to lots of people who have had them and they are very straightforward and little after effects, so please don't worry, my dad's 89 and he too is a little worried, but the benefits will hopefully out way the discomfort of the op x" Mine are due to uncontrolled diabetes so it's my fault really. I'm insulin dependent and it can be hard to control, especially if there's stressful stuff going on in your life. I'm trying to get things sorted so I can have the op. I'll be having it done under General anaesthetic because of my age, and the doctors wanting to spend more time on the op. You need very stable blood sugars to have general. Ibe been poorly a lot recently which doesn't help the sugars but I hope I'll get there. Because of the diabetes I'll have to take several eye drops several times a day for a few weeks so I'm more worried about that, but you can buy these plastic things to put the drops in so they go into the right part of the eye.

I find the blood testing difficult as it's hard to see what I'm doing. There is a new meter where you don't have to prick your finger. It's a patch that lasts a fortnight. You connect it to your phone and scan the patch and your blood sugar appears on your phone. At least that's how i think it works. You have to pay for the initial equipment and it's £100 but I think it would be worth it Hopefully it'll help me get things sorted

The OP itself for me, was only 14 minutes, but the prep before hand was around 10-12 mins. The surgery was painless. The after effects were minimal, though I was told that can vary from person to person. It's recommended to wear dark glasses after the surgery to eliminate sunshine glare. Drops will be prescribed, both as anti-inflammatories and mild painkillers and for other medical aspects. No heavy lifting, no stopping down to pick things up for the first 2 weeks and IMPORTANT, no hair wasgoing to avoid shampoo in the eyes as it will hurt like he'll, so use dry shampoo for 2 wks. It was the best ever thing for me; the euphoria is still wearing off even now!

Does the eye look any different?

I live witn family now so will be with them until I get my eyes sorted. I could probably get her to wash my hair for me! My grandmother had them done and said she felt great afterwards but she sadly passed away after a fall a few months later. I didn't have the cataracts then and never asked her about them.

Mollypop. I had Cataract Surgery over 3 years ago. Do you want any info? I was wondering what the eye will feel like afterwards. Does it feel at all painful? I have been given some information, so i know about what happens during the surgery but it's best to know about after the surgery from someone who's experienced it. Does the eye look any different?" I have just replied to Samiss on here so catch up there. Generally, the eye won't look any different. Some ppl get bloodshot conditions but it will fade after surgery + sometimes drops will assist in clearing it up. Medicated drops should be given out to put in for up to 2 wks after or as prescribed by the eye docs. I didn't have any pain after, but apparently, there can be mild pain sensations in some ppl. So long as you do what the docs say, you will be ok.

"Good eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevening, Molly. Nice to see you. How are you doing? Hi Jim! I'm okay at the moment thank you, but I've been really tired all day. I think it's the wind making me cold and tired. How are you? Yeah, it's not a great time of year. I'm peachy, a bit sleepy. I had an afternoon nap that lasted about four hours so no doubt I'll be awake until late again. Well that was silly. I know. I was very naughty. I guess I'll have to be punished now. *Spanks Molly's ass*"

I had Cataract Surgery over 3 years ago. Do you want any info? Was it straightforward, taking my dad tomorrow, he's 89 Mine was done under local anaesthetic but in hospital. Oh gosh I didn't realise you cs t bend down to pick things up for two weeks after the op and no hair washing. I live witn family now so will be with them until I get my eyes sorted. I could probably get her to wash my hair for me! My grandmother had them done and said she felt great afterwards but she sadly passed away after a fall a few months later. I didn't have the cataracts then and never asked her about them." Seriously, don't even think about hair washing, even if someone else does it for you! Even the slightest & mildest hair shampoo, if it splashes into the affected eye, Will sting like no other pain known! Docs fully recommend a Dry Shampoo for 2 weeks after. In short, only start using shampoo once the eye drops meds have finished. Dry shampoos are very good.

The improved sight eill make it all worthwhile." The "gritty" feeling is normal and soon stops, especially if you follow the Drops regime as advised. Don't forget, the docs will have put in a few micro stitches to secure the new Lens, and they work thru a tiny slit they create measuring about 3mm by 1mm, so naturally the eye tissue gets inflamed. That's what created the truthiness until the eye tissue returns to normal. Not stooping down to pick something up, is to reduce the blood flow pressure to the back of the eyes, which in severe circumstances, reverse all the surgery so the advice is NOT TO stoop down.
