Do a Search for people matching what you're looking for. e.g. 'men aged 30 - 40 within 20 miles'.

Look at the profiles that the search returns.

How many profiles do you need to look at before you find 3 - yes 3! - that you would want to meet...?

For men I'd imagine it will be "I found 3 women I wanted to meet after looking at 4 profiles".

For women the results might be different......

Has this experiment inspired you in any way? To mail new people/ to improve your profile/ to hide under your duvet and lock your doors?

I do this regularly. It’s how I get my meets, I do my own searches.

But quite often I give up despondent after3 or 4 pages of not finding anyone who remotely interests me.

had to go past 12 profiles before I found 3 that I'd be interested in talking to/seeing more of... not too bad. Maybe I'm just not very fussy

Local to me nada from 5 pages, then I got sick of scrolling. Doing a 20 mile radius search I hotlisted 2 from the first page.

With you buddy, and I'm a few years older so imagine my struggles. But, when I do meet a lady she seems to come back again. It's just like being a double-glazing salesman. Need to get the customer to listen.

Speaking as a desperate for any kind of a shag kind of single male, I find many, many dozens of willing single females.

They just don't answer my introductory message.

That is all.

Is it enough to be attracted to the picture or do we have have to meet all their criteria as well to count them in?

For example I saw one which sounded very good except she’s only looking for bbc.

I wouldn’t message her but do I count her in or not?

Do you try changing your postcode? Sometimes that can make the site search do a different area but still local. Down to odd Fab map boundary lines I think.

Always lots I’d love to meet but couldn’t say I’d want anymore than that until I met them. Trouble is I’m the most sought after type of guy on here so rarely goes anywhere. Don’t get me wrong, I’m having a moan or being bitter, but stating the facts lol

Same here. Negativity is not appealing. Also there is always the risk of finding out you don’t click but part of the pleasure is discovering the other person(s). Choosing from a catalog with everything prespecified doesn’t appeal. An element of spontaneity does.

You'd be better off attending group socials. I just went to one recently. On Fab, on either profile I use, even though I've put some thought and effort into both, neither of the women I kissed that night would have messaged me back positively. I don't meet there Demands.

In person, they had the chance to get to know and like me well enough, before I confessed my sexuality and my fetish for dressing up occasionally.

In the end I was invited back to someone's house. Someone I find highly attractive, but I had to decline

It was late and I had to be fresh in the morning for my children. That's the kind of shit you can't really put on your profile.

I'd rather meet them face to face, for me, that's when I know if I'm attracted or not.
