I had a friend in Canada, he couldn't wait for those minus temperatures, he'd go cut a hole in a frozen lake and fish for days on the ice! Mad bugger!

Guess it what ya get used to

I have gone ice fishing once in my life...that that was enough...lol

even when I was living back home I was not a big winter lover..but after my last winter trip home 4 years ago, with 3 kids in tow...I vowed never to travel back in winter,or at least not for a very long time.(not that I can afford to go back at any time of the year now...lol)

-49, that is really some temperature.

Even taking a piss in those temps is a hazard.

I've been out walking at -20, in a warm coat and hat and its amazing how the heat is sucked clean out of your body, through you face.

Ive seen it at -45 when drilling in the Norwegian sea. You dare not touch metal surfaces with a bare hand or you will loose skin to it.

"I can't imagine just how cold -49 feels like!"

Take all the frozen bread out of the freezer and climb in for 30 mins but make sure you have an air pipe. It only goes to -18 but will give you an idea.

when I was going to college back home I had a 5 minute walk from the metro to my college, and it was along a stretch of land that was open and right beside the water so the wind whipped off of it something awful...I can remember a morning it being -30,but with the wind felt like -40..hat down to just above eyes, scarf upto just below them, and the hot air from my breath was causing condensation on my eyebrows and eyelashes and at one point just before getting into the building got into a bit of a panick as I blinked and my eyelashes froze together...lol...had to take off my gloves to defrost my eyelashes so I could open my eyes and see again...I sooooo do not miss Canadian winters

Cold doesn't really get to me and I can happily stay outside with no bother.

When it reached -21 last year I was busy doing some menial tasks outside.

I get boiling within 2 minutes of even the slightest of physical activity when wearing 2 layers of clothing.

My mum says I am cold to the touch though, which I like.

I used to be able to handle the cold better, but I think after 8 years here in the uk I have lost my canadian blood and now really hate the cold weather

Perfect camping weather for me, bright, dry, cold and hardly any wind!

Just hope it will be like this in just over 3 weeks' time when I am off again for a 3-night trip!
