"Is he that desperate? I would just block him " I gently let him down, I'm kind that way

" Was I wrong to do so and what would you do?" Defo did the good and decent thing.

"You were right to point it out but I'm afraid he probably won't thank you for it " He hasn't responded but very silly of him in my view.

"Received today an unsolicited message for a guy who attached a face pic photo which was his (public sector) works ID card. I could see it was current and all the details clearly. I sent a polite message suggesting that he should not send an image of this card to strangers he did not know well and I was just concerned for his safety and privacy. Was I wrong to do so and what would you do?" You did the right thing. Although does his other pics match the id? I'd be concerned that he could be a victim of an elaborate set up. Someone sends a pic of his ID to you, you respond, messages start getting racy, he gets outed maliciously etc... Not saying it is wrong to message a TV/TS, but if the ID owner has no idea this is going on...

"Ask for a copy of his bank statement and a recent utility bill too" Not worth it as I know he doesn't earn a lot in his position

"You did the right thing - there are too many unscrupulous people on this site that would possibly use the information against him. "
