My nan made great apple pies with apples from her garden, her pastry was amazing.....but there would always be a hair in it somewhere....

A pie pie. Meat&potato pies cut into quarters and put in a dish. Lashings of gravy on top and then another pastry on top. Oven cook until golden brown.

Firsttime I tried it was when my sister-in-law, whose from Canada, made one.

Really liked it, so had a go at making my own and it came out rather well.

It was after this that she admitted that she slightly cheated in that she bought a tin of pumpkin pie filling rather than make it from raw ingredients.

Nobody said Cottage pie yet?

I like those pies that have a sort of dumpling-style top crust - no idea what they're called, but I like the minced steak and onion ones
