Went to my local store possibly for the last time at the weekend. Was quite a sad experience as it was fairly quiet and shelves were starting to get bare.

Managed to pick up a couple of blu rays I'd been after for a while. Hope the business is somehow saved for collectors of physical media that are still out there and the hardworking friendly staff.

Anyone else still a fan of physical movies and music?

Honestly? No, it's far more convenient to store them online or on a hard drive. That way they don't need switching about in a player, or take up loads of space... which I'm already being told off for by Kitten

Ah that's great! I did debate about going all digital but almost feel like it's my library of movies and music so couldn't get rid!

Still love Netflix but won't give up my collection anytime soon!

Went in to Chichester branch on Saturday, was well stocked, the Vinyl selection was good.....not packed with people tbf, and to my shame couldn't find anything to buy.

on thing with online you do not get the full experience of a movie because u miss all the extras in the making of it

I know what you mean mate. It is generally more convinient online so I do get it to an extent. Though to be fair they had some decent deals and exclusives too.

Reading

Love having the physical media, rummage through charity shops on a regular basis, and enjoy perusing fellow collectors tastes. Somehow flicking through a screen just isn't the same. Still enjoying the firestick I got for Christmas though. Best of both worlds.

Mike Ashley sniffing around the carcas, so not completely gone yet. Their online presence needs a shake up.

If I had a DVD player I would buy more DVDs. I don't listen to music that much though.

I prefer a book to a Kindle but I do read some free books on my phone.

Oh yes. But because I’m being forced (and this is a thing) to stream other ways eg Netflix Spotify etc, I find it hard to justify the prices. So I find myself buying older albums or dvds I never got round to purchasing the first time. Anything Under 3 quid gets my attention, closer to 5 pound and I can stream it along with millions of other media too.

Seen in far off places

In the not too distant future, record shops will be a complete thing of the past / an unknown entity to the youth...

HMV, as a three letter acronym, will simply mean 'Hairy Milfy Vadge'

...which is no bad thing of course.

Heard a lot about Alexa, but unsure about inviting someone who always answers back into my home...

Maldon

I always pop in whenever in town. It is sad but what can you do.

I have become addicted to looking at CD’s DVD’s in charity shops. I can’t walk past one now. It does seem that many people are now clearing out their collections, so many to look at. I usually find a few gems.
