I often see the act of attention seeking as being derided and put down but isn't that why we're all here?

Personally I love a bit of attention, after all if we didn't want attention then there would be no pictures and no one would meet.

I have no issue with attention seeking, nearly everyone enjoys attention.

I prefer good, honest look at me style attention seeking to the type that pretends they're not after attention though.

You are correct. Though I feel its how that attention seeking comes across.

Some people regardless of the situation and context just love attention to be on them.

Now there will be people thinking I mean somebody in specific, now they will be thinking is it them I'm talking about. Is it? Maybe! If you had to stop and think it very well could be you!

This makes a lot of sense. It's like the difference between false self-depreciation and seeking the attention of white knights, and uploading a photo you think is sexy for everyone to enjoy.

Sharing is caring, and while it is attention seeking that's not always bad thing

I think that sometimes it's a very British response, in that we're expected to be understated and reserved in our looking for attention, flagrant and ostentatious attention seeking is very vulgar isn't it?

I think I know what you mean, I think that some people use negative comments or derogatory posts to draw attention, in those cases negative attention and enforcement continue the cycle.

Not that I'm aware of, I don't agree with attention at any costs and I'd rather elicit positive responses.

Don't draw attention to yourself, be modest in your behaviour and project low confidence or people won't like you is the message I see put forward. If you do people will tell you you're marvellous, gorgeous and talented until you start to believe it. Then they'll proceed to knock you down again.

We're all here to seek attention for sure, I think it's *how* we go about seeking it that generally brings out the derision or rolly eyes.

Some have it down to a fine art form - the reverse psychology "I'll just sit here unnoticed" comments designed to have people saying "of course you're noticed" or the guys that post threads asking for profile advice that when you look are fit and toned and have multiple veris all of them recent - those type of things.

Yes, that'd be the sort of behaviour I was thinking about. We are all courting attention in different ways (even by me posting smarmy, far too long posts I am) but when it negatively impacts or involved others I think it's a bit shitty.

Observe the difference in responses to a person who posts saying they feel unattractive to a person who posts saying they know they're hot.

I find that the most extreme attention seekers hope to draw attention away from everyone else but that's difficult on fab. The people that aim to make others inferior are frequently the people pandering to the attention seeker.
