"The jet engine That nazi,s invented that didn't they for the V1 V2 rocket??? " Oooh, now that could be debatable, as to who very first, truly, ruly thought of the jet engine. Wasn't Whittle in there somewhere? Okay, clue is in the tile and if in doubt, do a quick youtube for the difference between jet and rocket engines. Just sayin' However, what is perfectly true is that doodlebugs were powered by futuristic engines. What is also true (in very simplistic terms) is that after WW2 finished, the Americans got first choice of the brains behind the Axis powers. Which is why Mr Brown who invented the rocket engine, became the American who put man on the moon. What is truly scary, is the thought that Werner von Braun (Mr. Brown) could very easily have shared a drink of Pilsner in the same bar as Schindler, Hess, Goering and a mildly well known Austrian who might have been injured close to Ypres in World War 1. Hope that Helps Doubt that it Does.

"Erm slavery, concentration camps By the way we did do this On a positive Industrial revolution We polluted the whole world too Blimey we’re shit" You do have a very good point there, StellaHeels. It's something I do worry about each time I buy a bag of Tate & Lyle, visit the Tate Britain, walk past a branch of Mr Barclays finest banks (There's not many left now) and even every time I buy either Unilver's Lynx bodywash or a tub of margarine (so that's palm oil covered too). I'm not convinced that "On a positive" and "Industrial revolution" should be in the same sentence though, even if they are seperated by a line break. Hope that Hepls. Suspect that Stella might be intelligent enough to grasp what I'm saying, if not agree.

"Looking down our noses at people we think are less intelligent than us. We can already see an example of that behavior in this forum." There is a difference between knowledge and intelligence. I know 2 people. One is a rocket scientist. The other is a bloke with grease covered hands who dropped out of school but knows how to rebuild a Merlin Engine. (Which is neither jet nor rocket powered) Hope that helps. Doubt that the person who wrote their reply will allow it to help.

"Its language. English is the most important language in the world. If you speak English you have access to the whole world of knowledge because every major written work in every single domain either has been written or translated into English. People all over the planet love learning English more than any other language. " A year or two or three ago, one of our British politicians announced that the whole world needed to be global. And as part of that initiative, he suggested that the whole of the British Isles / United Kingdom / England etc..... should grasp the chance to become better educated and to lead the world by....... Learning how to speak in Chinese. A week or so later, I had the delightful job of transporting "international students" between an international transport hub (airport) and an international base of international learning (Sheffield University). The most memorable part of the journey was not only giving Far Eastern students a guided tour of Ladybower whilst pointing out it's importance to the Dambusters, but also, I got great rpide from listening to how many of those people from half way around the world were telling me that English is the language of the world. Hope that helps. Doubt that it does.
