Very brave of the wife to do that, I guess some with a comfortable lifestyle may shy away from confronting the problem.....well done her.

Well done to his wife.

Nobody to blame but himself. He bears responsibility for destruction of his family.

It was absolutely the right thing to do. Let's just hope and prey that his horrific persuasion didn't move from his laptop onto his own children or any young children he treated in his surgery. More than likely they'll have been too naive to realise something bad was happening on top of being taught that doctors are safe people. His children will need to be examined. The police will contact the parents of any kids he's treated. The implications are unimaginable.

To close, let's not forget the worst victims of all, the poor children in the images who were no doubt in a living nightmare.

The families of the "accused" are forgotten victims. While not as terrible an act as to the true victims, the families of those who have done wrong also have their lives destroyed but we forget about them and what they are going through.

op was just an example. You rarely here about the aftermouth for the families of people that murder or r**e or are serial killers. Im not in anyway saying they are as much a victim as the actual victim but we do often forget about them

Was this in 2012 by any chance. What is the name of this doctor who has forgotten the victims names? I never knew them to begin with and have no idea of what this slight but untrackable reference to some nasty stuff means for us on here? Gill us in... I don't think you'll find any supporters of child porn on here (or anywhere) so what is your point?

The point is that a lot of the families of the person who is committing vile and violent crimes are also victims of the actions. Assuming these people had zero knowledge of what was happening.

Not in any way, shape or form are they on the same level as the true victims but their lives are also ruined by the actions of these vile people. They are the often forgotten victims.

Im not quite sure how you

1. Missed the explanation in the comments

2. came the the conclusion it had anything to do with supporting it.

I'm sure that you didn't mean to be glib or dismissive but that's a little how your post reads.

People and families are going through this at this exact moment, it's not fun and it's not cheery no but it is a nice sentiment to hear.

Very true.

I think that victim is a rather evocative term, survivor is perhaps a slightly better sentiment.

I do think that the families and friends of the perpetrators are completely overlooked in many cases and can often suffer from a degree of associated guilt and sometimes vilification.

It can and does affect families on a basic level. Whilst it's not the same thing as the people who had the offences visited upon them, it does still ruin lives and does go completely ignored by virtually everyone.

I saw a documentary on the Peadophile hunters the people who trap online groomers into meeting.

I have absolutely no sympathy for the Men caught by these hunters, but in one case they went to the guys house filming whilst they were confronting him, his Girlfriend and Parents visible in the footage that was then uploaded onto the web / Facebook page. His Girlfriend and Parents were targeted, even a brick thrown through the window narrowly missing a baby who slept near the window.

It’s bad enough that someone you trust and care for, turns out to be something totally different than who they first appeared to be. But then your community turns against you, not caring that you’re innocent.

I do truly believe there are plenty of victims of these sick crimes.

That's awful. Mob mentality and random acts of violence are never ever justified. If people feel the need to do something then surely support is a far better tool

This is spot on.. there is no information or updates for families or partners. They aren't entitled to any assistance or support from the police regarding the details of any crime until it becomes public at a trial.

Close friends may be sympathetic at first but soon forget about the details of the situation, which may haunt the 'survivor' for years.

It's a hideous situation and truly life changing for anyone caught up in it.

Exactly this. Having their lives impacted so cataclysmically yet the system gives them no regard or support can have a detrimental effect in itself.

It's ridiculous how little you're entitled to know. You're nobodies concern whilst this is happening. Merely a person to try and gather information from and for others to gossip about and decide for themselves how you couldn't know anything.

As you can probably tell, I've been through it. It's life changing.
