"From what I've read, it is a new chapter to the original movies set in present day and Jason Reitman is directing." Yes. I read that on a thread about exactly the same subject less than an hour ago. It’s great to have it confirmed again though.

"Sounds rubbish. Is it the original cast making " jokes " about how old they are Well Harold Ramis is dead and the others are almost dead - Bill Murray looks like a pile of dust about to float away at any moment - so probably not." Bill Murray never wanted to do a third unless it was a good story.

"It can't be the original cast Harold ramis died in 2014, unless they're busting him but apparently his son is directing it!" The rest of the cast are still alive.

Chuck enough cash at him i'm sure he'd spend the last few months of his life on it.

"Sounds rubbish. Is it the original cast making " jokes " about how old they are " Except for Harold Ramis of course. Mind you, might be pretty spectacular if they could manage to actually get him to 'appear' in the film - what with him being dead and everything

"When it comes to Harold Ramis, I doubt that they'll do what they did with Peter Cushing in Rogue One." hope not, that ruined the movie for me, I get he had to appear but id have been happier if some one else played the character instead of CGIing cushing, anyways, im pretty hyped up and looking forward to this one, i think lesson will have been learnt by how bad the second movie was and how wrong the reboot was, so, darker and a little humour will work for me

"Surely Ramis being dead lends himself to being a ghost? " that would be just wrong, and i’m hoping they don’t even go there with it.

"Is it going to be the female cast again the last one was fookin awful " Nope. It's a sequel to the original Ghostbusters movies.

I reckon it will be a passing the torch type of film like the Creed movies with the original Ghostbusters cast mentoring their teenage grandchildren.

" Looked awful, they should have recast. But I would imagine, it would be his characters kid that set the adventure off.

"Surely Ramis being dead lends himself to being a ghost? that would be just wrong, and i’m hoping they don’t even go there with it." I don't think it would have been something he'd have objected to. The cgi/effects of the ghosts tends to be cartoony anyway so probably wouldn't need such a "realistic" peter cushing like rendering.

A ghost version of Egon from The Real Ghostbusters

"Just thought I'd bump this thread to confirm that the remaining original cast (Sigourney Weaver, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hutton) are reprising their roles for the third Ghostbusters installment. This should be very interesting. " Hopefully better than Indiana Jones attempt after so long
