So, I know many of you may be watching this for many different reasons.

I watch it, I enjoy it, but it also grinds my gears a little as well.

Thoughts?

Quite a lot of us have watched it since the first series - here's a thread from last time -

https://www.fabswingers.com/forum/lounge/711306

Would be good to get all contestants who have more of a clue/aptitude to be appropriate for military service, facing ordeals outdoors and with the right fitness levels.

I'm no great lover of the British Army for various reasons but jeezo these SAS boys are hard, proper hard, the scrotes that run around our streets at night wouldn't last seconds with these boys

I have watched it since in started...

Interesting to see how the women cope this time.

Not sure if one of the instructors should have shouted to one of the females to show some balls in last Sundays episode!

I watch it as Ant Middleton makes my fanny flutter.

But also because I live to see just how much they can take.

That's my issue with it. The reality compared with a 10 day tv show. the stuff they do is no harder than infantry and other frontline corps training. Yet we had to do that for 24 weeks if you include Basic.

They're all amateur Atheletes so shouldn't find it as hard as they do.

Feel like it takes away some of what we did as craphat.

yet I find it entertaining

But like Bear's Island it wouldn't be as interesting to watch for the masses. Most people will be watching for idiots and weakness in contestants. If they selected by who's most appropriate then it wouldn't have as wide an audience. Just my thinking.

That's funny given lots of women and men feel the same way. Yet nearly all of you seem to be looking for tall men. He's a shortarse, same height as me

It is a great watch but as with all such programmes will be very skillfully edited for entertainmemt purposes.

I don't frequent social media but can imagine there was an online uproar over how the women are being treated.

Just so you are aware guys it's not just Army that can be in the SAS, it's all 3 services. The first 2 serious were more realistic but still a long way from what the guys have to do.

For example when your on selection the only reason they would ask about personal life is to use it against you to see if you break. They have no interest in you as a person at that point, they just want to ensure you have what it takes.

I'm not SF, but I have worked with them and they are a different breed altogether, ridiculously focussed.

Ant the presenter is Navy. Ex Army, ex Royal Engineer 9 Para, left and joined Royal Marines, then went on to SBS, not SAS.
