I'm just honest but I try to be tactful about it. Sometimes these things just don't pan out in real life. But there was one guy who I actually walked right past because I didn't recognise him from his pics. Talk about false advertisement!

I think the way to go is video cam chat before you meet. That way one can vet them to see if boxes are ticked without getting off my arse!

In my very early days on here yes.

Met people for socials, and they were nothing like their pics, had obviously used old photos, not been 100% truthful on their profile.

I've used the old babysitter trick several times & once went to the loo & escaped out the side door.

I didn't feel they deserved any explanation as they'd initially deceived me.

I've also had a few socials where very quickly realised there was just no spark & have been honest.

I've stayed friends with a couple of them, we still chat online most weeks & occasionaly meet up, just for coffee.

I think even recent pictures and an actual face can differ loads. You build your own image in your mind a bit beforehand and can still be surprised. Ive never run off though, I like the adjustment period of knowing their face properly.

We met somebody once who just

just didn't feel 'right' once we met. So I apologised and explained that unfortunately we didn't feel like we could play and said goodnight.

He took it very well to be fair to him.

Its amazing how different one photo can look from another too even when it is the same person. Always suspicious when they appear without the dog ears and bambi nose though

I’ve possibly met close to 400 guys socially, I’ve actually had sex with 5 of them. That’s over 8 years and my socials were anything from a coffee in costas to meeting them in the car park of KFC. You absolutely can not tell if you want anything more from them until you’ve seen them in the flesh. Anyone can take a good picture, good angle, could have sunglasses on or only sent one face picture.

I always speak on the phone with someone first to suss out whether I can actually bear to spend a bit of time with them. Then pitch first meets as 'a coffee to suss each other out'. That does quite often end in playing, but that way there's no awkwardness if it does just stay as a quick coffee.
