Feminist action in Saudi Arabia

I was just reading about an 18 year old Saudi girl who fled her family for patriarchal emotional abuse and is now seeking refuge in Canada.

I know it's not manspreading or the 2 centimes per hour problem but I'm wondering what our resident feminists have to say?

Is it time for action?

Yes.

Will anyone do anything about it?

No.

Same goes with North Korea, Russia, Poland, U.S., etc.

All countries have major problems related to how they're govern and run but in reality no one will stand up and do something about it.

I read this story and see it as a clash of two bandwagons. On the one hand, it's about the Saudi woman's rights. On the other hand, it's about the culture, religion and country she's escaped from. Ain't no "lightweight" gonna touch that one

Yes, Saudi Arabia imports a lot of food from Western countries, you can artificially inflate your own prices.

Alternatively, put it on the the table that you think you are going to buy less oil from them, America is now exporting oil from fracking - that grabs attention from those at the top of the economic ladder who also use their money to fund religious institutions, which serve to enforce their narrative.

Ironic that a thread comes up suggesting that we force another country to do things our way, on the same day there is a vote in our parliament on how to escape the EU for daring to tell us how a country should be run.

No body seems to care what they do.

Genicide in Yemen- world ignores it, horrific murder of journalist on foreign soil- sure let’s ignore that as well.

General human rights abuse, Slavery and females treated like nothing - yup also ignored.

No matter what they do the rest of the world just let’s it slide.

That is one of the most underrepresented truths on the internet.

Plenty of people talking about change but doing nothing about it.

People saying, we should first help "our" people instead of "other" people, are usually the ones who are on their ass all day watching tele and eating donuts.

Better eating donuts than arming the rebels and creating another Syria! Uneducated intervention has done nobody any good in the Middle East.

This is why trump throwing away the Iran deal was such a disaster.

Iran opening up its oil trade to the world would have crippled OPEC and SA's political influence as because of sanctions and out dated tech Iran now has vast quantities of oil compared to the nations that have exported for decades

You do know the second largest oil refinery in the world belongs half to Mobil and half the king of Saudi ?

Watch what the Saudis do to frackers like them lot in the north sea five years a go
