It's a new one on me too Diamond.

Piles are bad enough as it is - but to be gay and suffer them would be a real bummer (pun intended)

Its medication that stops people catching HIV.

Though it then seems to encourage more people to bareback and it doesn't stop any other STI from being caught.

Worrying that on a swingers site no ones knows what it is .

Yeah I was thinking the same. Always protect but been thinking it’s worth that extra protection

Last time i went for a check up the girl said some places have trials or you can get it online an the clinic would monitor you with bloodtests etc.

Google iwantprep now - they can point you to various providers . I'd then ask at your local std clinic if they will monitor you.

You get it on the NHS here in Scotland and available for everyone. Crazy England still haven’t introduced this. I’ll look into it further x

the gym and random places

Very worrying at the lack.of knowledge on a swingers site. I would advocate all men (anyone) really read up about it.

"

Stops it completely?"

Yes as far as i know. It looks like there are still some trial places available throughout the UK for both men and women dependant on location from what i can see online. Otherwise it starts about £20.00 a month from links on the website previously mentioned.

Probably not given its a medication aimed at partners of people with HIV and can have terrible side effects on the organs.

Don't take any medication unless it's been prescribed by a medical professional.

Simple common sense.

I was told about it at the sexual health clinic and the fact they will monitor for any kidney issues which she stated are very few and far between.the iwantprepnow site only links to genuine suppliers of PrEP or the generic version. I am new to it all as it was only last month i heard about it .

Terence Higgins trust advises this.

If you’re thinking about getting PrEP from outside the NHS, it’s important that you talk to an adviser from a sexual health clinic. They will support you to use the treatment safely and provide necessary tests.

In all big PrEP studies, no one became infected if they took PrEP as recommended. But if you don't take it correctly, it may not work.

The drugs used in PrEP are the same drugs that are prescribed to thousands of people living with HIV every year. They’re very safe and serious side effects are very rare.

A few people experience nausea, headaches or tiredness and, very rarely, the medication can affect kidney function. As a precaution, people taking PrEP have regular kidney function tests.

Although PrEP is highly effective at preventing HIV, it won’t protect you from other STIs or an unwanted pregnancy, which condoms would.
