Mine is nearly 12 years old and will be driven into it's coffin, due to the fact I'll never be able to afford a brand new one again. Anyone else poor like me?

Love you car, just incase you're reading this.

Be surprised what bargains you can pick up now.

The lease market has made a lot more cheap cars available which have good service history

You have specialist websites and companies that sell ex lease cars.they all have good service history, checks and you get a warranty when you buy. You can get a good car with loads of life in it between 2-8k

I picked up a brand new citron Despatch van yesterday, I've now had it for 24 hours.

I'm definitely not rich, using it mainly for business and my personal use. Traded in a 2012 Berlingo and a loan helped.

A cheap second hand car if you don't want anything fancy is the ford fusion. Old people buy them because of the high seating position and step.

So they make excellent buys as they have had soft use. Not fast or flashy but practical good on insurance and running costs.parts dirt cheap

Same here... My 13 year old Mazda6 is the first and probably the only new car I'll ever own.

Bought in Sept 2005 and still going strong. Just clocked 49k this week. Japanese diesel, so plenty more life in it.

My next tax in March, will be £230 but the tossers keep dreaming up excuses, to bump it even higher.

Something that turns petrol into power and, evidently, an awful lot of emissions lol.

I’ve got a 11 year old ST focus.

Didn’t pay much for it last year as I have a small budget.

But I love it it’s, fast and lairy .

Blacked out windows and leather recaro seats.

My local garage ruined the gearbox not long after I got it. by forgetting to refill the gearbox oil after I asked them to change it at a service.

But now it’s fixed and couldn’t be happier.

Sorry I’m a bit of a car bore.

53 plate Fester here. Big engine. (1.4)

I spend between £300 and £500 each year on maintenance. Family owned since it was 6 month old.

There are a few stories to be told, but it doesn't break down, I've never failed to get home.

When it does need fixing, parts are cheap.

I don't drive it hard so despite showing 136,000 miles, it still drives "like new".

Because the tyres alone are worth more than the whole car, I don't get angry / heartbroken / dismayed / gutted when somebody dinks it in the supermarket car park.

Don't get me wrong, I hate the car with passion. It's not "my" sort of car. It doesn't do dramas or crisises. It starts first turn, never needs a jump, makes funny grinding noises and just keeps on bloody well going.

My ideal garage would be filled with a Transit Tourneo (as a stealth camper), Triumph Stag V8, MGB GT (rubber bumpers), MGA, Alfa Romeo 2.5 diesel and a Maserati Bi-Turbo.

Until I can afford those, I'll make do with the 53 plate Fester 1.4. The heated windscreen is fantabulous. (There's a story behind that though)

"Just about to get a brand new one next Month

I wanna ride

I wanna smell the interior.

I love the smell of a new car, mine has that old smell to it now.

I like classic models."

Very appropriate, erect.

Ours are both 6 months old and we change them every 18 months. Wont say what they are because they do stand out and people on here might work out who we are.

We would rather that didnt happen

"

I have to watch stuff on catch up as my Sky box keeps freezing. I don't have Sky any more, but I watch the normal channels through it. Anyone any ideas why it might be doing that, maybe it getting old like my car.

Try turning your heating up a bit

I don't think you're taking my problem seriously enough Sam,I have to keep getting off my sofa to switch off at the mains, wait a while then switch back on. Wait the normal 30 mins for the damn thing to get a signal so I can then change channels.

Corrie starts in 25 I'm panicking!"
