Nr Chester

We cancelled in December with Sky. Got a phone call two minutes later offering huge incentives to stay which we did. Might be worth considering that before swapping over. At least to get more for less temporarily anyhow.

if you do decide to change and goto virgin all virgin customers are getting free double speeds fro february onwards so even the lowest bb package from virgin will be 20mb but youll only pay the price of ten all the way up to 100mb users who will only get theres added to 120mb but theyre gonna get a price reduction.i'm with virgin and get iplayer itv player 4 od etc free and as the poster above has mentioned if you ring sky and say your leaving at the end of your contract you will get incentives to stay with them.win win id say

first of all ring up sky and tell them your thinking of leaving. they will discount your package approx 50% for 6 months

As for Virgin I moved to them the other month after splitting with the ex. I had been with Sky for over 10yrs

Both have pro's an cons. Sky is better in this posters opinion but Virgin is cheaper for my package

in the night garden

if you are moving to Virgin you MUST get Tivo, it rocks a phat one. I've had for 2 months now and love it.

Several independant reviews say it's the best service in the UK, spanking Sky+. The only thing I would say is that the interface is sluggish and all that red can be tiring to look at.

Top idea, we always phone Sky twice a year to complain about something we'd just made up. Loyalty gets you no where these days so whinge and threaten to leave and get some freebies off 'em.

Our last made up complaint got us a Sky HD for free with box too.

So did we. Only prob is, we ain't got a HD telly lol

I love the TiVo box from Virgin but their prices are just too expensive compared to Sky. We use VM for broadband though and would never consider switching to anyone else. Virgin's BB service runs off the back of it's cable TV network and it's such a reliable structure that has been in the ground for approx 15 years and is still bearing up well.
